The Lyft app allows passengers with accessibility needs to enable Access Mode. In certain markets, when Access Mode is enabled, vehicles that are specially outfitted to accommodate wheelchairs will be dispatched in lieu of a standard Lyft vehicle. In markets where those vehicles are not available, information regarding local services will be sent directly to the passenger via text message when the ride is requested. Many of the below accessible vehicle dispatches must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. In order to utilize their service, you may want to consider first reaching out to the local dispatch to inquire about their sign up process. Depending on the vendor, it may take several weeks to complete the enrollment process before being able to book a ride in their respective cities. For PHX Airport, we dispatch accessible vehicles in real time for pickups only during the airport's hours of operations. If you are unable to get picked up by one of these vehicles, let us know.
In Boston, we dispatch accessible vehicles in real-time. In our New York City market, we dispatch accessible vehicles in real-time. If you are unable to get picked up by one of these vehicles, please contact Grand Limo & Car Service, Inc. at 718-433-4255. In Portland, we dispatch accessible vehicles in real-time. To submit a complaint to the City of Seattle, you may call Finance and Administrative Services at 206-684-2489, or visit the complaints webpage here.Service changes have been approved for the following routes. All proposed changes will take effect Monday, November 2, 2015. Please click on the route name/number for further details:GoTriangle will enact two temporary changes to Route 700 to help the route arrive at Durham Station and the Regional Transit Center (RTC) on time. Recent traffic congestion on NC 147 has slowed Route 700 significantly, causing some trips to be late to Durham Station and the RTC over 50% of the time. The Route 700 trips departing the RTC at 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM on weekdays will not serve Lawson St, Alston Ave, or Durham Tech.
Instead, van service will be provided from the RTC to Durham Tech. All other Route 700 trips will continue to serve Lawson St, Alston Ave, and Durham Tech, including every trip from Durham Station to the RTC. The van will depart from the RTC (directly behind Route 700's platform space) at 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM on weekdays, and will only stop on Lawson St at Durham Exchange Club Industries (DECI) and Durham Tech. Alternate service to the other stops on Lawson St is available on GoDurham Route 8, and alternate service to stops on Alston Ave is available on GoDurham Route 12. For more information on the van, see our Van Service FAQ below. 700 Detour - RTC to Durham Route 700 will not serve Cornwallis Rd and Davis Dr on weekdays from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Alternate service is available on RTP shuttles 42 (to Davis Dr) and 47 (to Cornwallis Rd. Route 700 will continue to serve Cornwallis Rd and Davis Dr on weekdays from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM and from 7:30 PM to the end of service
, as well as on Saturdays and Sundays. Q: How do I find the Durham Tech/DECI van?The Durham Tech/DECI van will pick up passengers directly behind Route 700 on the RTC platform. In addition, for the first few days after the service change, a GoTriangle employee will be on the platform at the RTC to guide passengers to the van.Q: Can I ride the Durham Tech/DECI van to another stop on Lawson St or Alston Ave?No. In order to make it back to the RTC on time, the van has to turn around immediately after dropping passengers off at Durham Tech. Passengers heading to other bus stops on Lawson St or Alston Ave between 7:30 and 8:00 AM can ride Route 700 to Durham Station, then transfer to the Route 700 trip heading back to the RTC, which will continue to serve Lawson St and Alston Ave as normal.Q: Can I ride the Durham Tech/DECI van from Durham Tech back to the RTC?No. The van will not allow any passengers to board after it has left the RTC. However, all trips of Route 700 from Durham Station to the RTC will continue to serve Durham Tech and DECI as normal, so the van will not be necessary for trips to the RTC.
Q: Is the Durham Tech/DECI van wheelchair accessible? The van itself is not wheelchair accessible. However, if a wheelchair-using passenger needs to use the van, the platform supervisor will swap the van for a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.Q: Can I bring my bicycle on the Durham Tech/DECI van?No. Passengers with bicycles must take Route 700 to Durham Station and transfer to Route 8.Q: How much will the Durham Tech/DECI van cost?Currently, our vans are not equipped with fareboxes, so we will not be able to collect fares on the van. However, if a vehicle with a farebox becomes available to operate the van service, we will begin collecting fares at the same rates as Route 700. We encourage customers to have a GoPass, a Regional Day Pass, or the appropriate amount of fare on hand when using the van.Q: Why was service to Durham Tech and NCCU removed from those trips? The northbound trips departing RTC at 7:30 and 8:00 AM are late to Durham Station – causing passengers to miss their transfers – over 50% of the time.
Since those trips already had no service to Davis Dr and Cornwallis Rd, GoTriangle’s only option for reducing the travel times of those trips was to remove service to Durham Tech and NCCU.Q: Will bus service to Durham Tech and NCCU be restored on all trips?GoTriangle will continue to monitor traffic congestion on NC 147. If traffic congestion returns to a manageable level, we would like to restore consistent service to Durham Tech and NCCU on all trips. However, as additional construction is scheduled for the interchange of NC 147 and Alston Ave beginning next spring, we expect traffic conditions to worsen. GoTriangle will work with Durham Tech, NCCU, and other stakeholders to determine long-term regional service arrangements for Durham Tech, NCCU, and the Lawson St area.Q: How will this affect Durham Tech and NCCU’s GoPass programs?Durham Tech and NCCU GoPasses will still be accepted on all GoTriangle and GoDurham routes, including Route 700. No changes to the GoPass programs are planned at this time.
Q: Why was service to Davis Dr and Cornwallis Rd removed from more trips?Serving Davis Dr and Cornwallis Rd adds about 2-3 minutes to the travel time between Durham Station and the RTC. Average travel times on several peak trips in both directions are above the 25-minute scheduled time, so streamlining the route is necessary in order to ensure that Route 700 operates reliably between Durham Station and the RTC. Existing shuttle services will still provide service to all previous Route 700 stops on Davis Dr and Cornwallis Rd.GoTriangle (formerly Triangle Transit) will eliminate Route CTX (South Cary and Raleigh Express) permanently on Monday, November 2, 2015. Route CTX averaged one customer boarding per revenue hour, which falls well below GoTriangle’s service standards for similar routes.Alternate service between southern Cary and Raleigh is provided on GoTriangle Route 305. Route 305 has a nearby Park-and-Ride, Colonades Way at Waverly Place Park-and-Ride #1317. Route 305 also has a street stop near Route CTX’s Park-and-Ride, Tryon Rd at Cary Parkway #1267.
(Please do not park at that stop.) The newly expanded Route 300, which picks up from Cary Train Station, may also serve your commute.Q: Why is Route CTX being eliminated?Route CTX was selected for elimination because it carries less than one passenger per revenue hour and has service in the same corridor provided by Route 305.Q: Is riding Route 305 as fast as riding Route CTX?The trip from Waverly Place Park-and-Ride to Wilmington St at Martin St (next to Moore Square) on Route 305 is scheduled to take 30-40 minutes depending on time of day. This is only slightly longer than Route CTX, which is scheduled to take 30 minutes at all times. Travel times to Western Blvd at Dan Allen Dr (NC State University) are also similar between the two routes.Q: Will more trips be added to Route 305?Unfortunately, we cannot use the Fortify funding allocated to Route CTX to operate any other services.Q: What does this mean for the other Fortify services?GoTriangle plans to continue the other Fortify services – Routes FRX, CLX, JCX, and expanded Route 300 service – as long as funding is available from NCDOT.
