The opening times are Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 6.00pm.The newly formed Prince & Princess Society, set up oly last month, have been busy with their first major fundraising project. Readers will remember the story of Gracie-May Fuller. She came to our attention as a toddler back in 2010, through an appeal to raise money for a vital operation to help her walk again. Five years later and Grace has been through many operations. She still uses a wheelchair, but the one she has is now too small for her. The Prince and Princess Society explain, Grace Fuller is an inspirational girl on the Isle of Wight who has undergone many operations to help her walk. Despite having Cerebral Palsy she always has a smile on her face and last year with the Island’s support she managed to have the second operation towards getting her mobile. However, like many children with many different conditions Grace still relies heavily on her wheelchair. Grace’s current chair is now too small for her and held together with a ratchet strap and cable ties.

Grace has come so far and to now be held back because of lack of equipment seems so unfair. The family are attempting to raise the funds and save themselves and thanks to a kind grant are £500 closer to the total £2,000 that is needed to purchase a new suitable chair. Getting mobility equipment when needed is no easy feat and I am asking everyone who has a spare pound or two to get behind this cause and help a family who spend so much of their time helping other Island children by volunteering their time and running another Island charity which supports children. The appeal is just over the half-way target. You can help bring it closer to the £2,000 needed for a new wheelchair by heading over the the Just Giving Page and making a donation. No matter how small, every penny counts. Alternatively you can text PAPS52 £5 (or £10, £20 etc) to 70070. Grace’s Mum explained that ther’s a very long waiting list with the NHS for a suitable wheelchair, hence the need for Islander’s help.

She shared photos of bruises on Grace’s legs due to her wheelchair being too small. How you can help Details of how to support the organisation are on their facebook page.
