WBSince the release of the ill-fated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice earlier this year, the 44-year-old has been planning to make things right with his own Dark Knight solo movie.Now former Warner Bros President Silverman has let slip, revealing there’s only two years until The Batman.Speaking with Deadline, he went through the studio’s planned slate for their upcoming movies.WBHe said: “Then in 2018, there is a second Fantastic Beasts film, and Ready Player One feels like an ambitious movie by the world’s best filmmaker, Steven Spielberg, that will set the world on fire. “There is Aquaman with James Wan, and Scooby Doo will be a huge launch and then there is Lego Ninjago.
And then there is Ben Affleck’s Batman.”In a recent interview for his next directorial outing, Live By Night, Affleck updated Variety on The Batman’s script.He said: “We’re on the right track with that and everything is coming together.“We’re just finishing up a script. No superhero movie is complete without a super villain. From Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman in Batman, to Ian McKellen as Magneto in X-Men, here are our favourite villains. The late Heath Ledger plays a twisted Joker in 2008's Batman: The Dark Knight Affleck has also revealed that his Good Will Hunting co-star Matt Damon was bitter he gets to play Batman.Back in September it was announced that True Blood star Joe Manganiello would be playing The Batman’s villain, Deathstroke.The news came soon after Affleck had teased the baddie in a mysterious set video from the Justice League set.However, producer Geoff Johns will not confirm or deny whether Deathstroke, who has many similarities to Deadpool, has a cameo in Justice League or not.
WBDeathstroke, aka Slade Wilson, has had regular clashes with Batman in the comics, with many thinking the movie will be set in Arkham Asylum.He is an assassin and mercenary who gained superhuman powers after taking part in a secret experiment.Deathstroke’s skills include enhanced physical and mental abilities with regenerative healing factors.Batman most recently cameoed in Suicide Squad back in August and will next appear in Justice League out in November 2017.Lego Dimensions, the video game that will use smart mini-figures to access on-screen heroes, already had a strong line-up of brands. This week we learned that Scooby and Shaggy will be joining Marty McFly, Gandalf, Batman and Doctor Who on their brand mashing adventure. A new trailer for Lego Dimensions introduced the Scooby-Doo packs with a cartoon short and example game-play. Shaggy, Scooby, The Mystery Machine are all playable, there’s even the ubiquitous Scooby Snacks. The Scooby levels take on a classic Saturday morning cartoon feel in the game, now though it’s the player controlling the action — investigating spooky mansions, abandoned circuses and running away from mummified enemies.
The Scooby-Doo content is part of the Starter Pack for Lego Dimensions, but adding the Team Pack expansion (purchased separately) enables players to take control of Scooby or Shaggy and drive the Mystery Machine around any of the 14 campaign levels. The expansion pack also unlocks the Scooby-Doo open world levels that can be explored to find hidden bricks and mysteries to solve. Scooby-Doo and Shaggy each have their own abilities and the Mystery Machine and Scooby Snack can be re-built using in-game instructions to unlock new abilities. As can be seen in the trailer the game enables players to access any of the brands with just the starter pack, mixing them up in different ways. This is a departure for the toy-game hybrid products that usually have to promise to keep franchises separate in the main story. Other brands are also seen in the trailer. Scooby and Shaggy run through the Ghostbusters HQ, Ninjago homelands and DC Comics cityscapes before stopping off at Hill Valley and Homer Simpson’s house.
Lego Dimensions will release on Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on September 27th in the US and September 29th in the UK.Scooby-Doo hits center stage in the UK Warner Bros. Consumer Products UK is taking Scooby and the gang to London's West End this month. The Mystery Machine is up and running and entering stage left. Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. Gang are returning to the stage with the new family show Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries in the UK. Warner Bros. Consumer Products UK is staging the show at the iconic London Palladium with licensee Life Like Touring, marking Scooby-Doo’s theatrical debut in London’s West End. The show, which previously toured North America and Australia, will run from August 18 to 24.Musical Mysteries is part of an effort to evolve the Scooby-Doo franchise as it continues to be supported across TV, home video, online and gaming. Last summer, the Scooby gang embarked on a national mall tour across the US.
Additionally, a feature film has been confirmed for 2018.
