From all the Model Citizens at LEGOLAND Florida Resort, have fun enjoying a safe and spooky Halloween tonight. If you’re joining us for the last date of our expanded Brick or Treat event, don’t miss the brick-tastic fireworks finale at 8 p.m. in Pirates’ Cove, including a colorful LEGO® surprise you can only see with our free viewing glasses. It’s all included with regular park admission. Did you enjoy all the kid-friendly fun of this year’s event? Leave a comment and let us know what you’d like to see during next year’s Brick or Treat. Two dates remain for Brick or Treat, our awesome Halloween celebration built just for kids. On Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31, guests can enjoy all the spooky, kooky fun throughout the theme park, including several all-new offerings: An exclusive, pirate-themed fireworks spectacular lights up the night starting at 8 p.m. Before the show in Pirates’ Cove, pick up a pair of free viewing glasses to see a special LEGO® twist in each exploding burst of color.

In Market Plaza, don’t miss the 13-foot “Vampyre Hearse” made entirely of LEGO bricks. Designed and assembled by our Master Model Builders, the hotrod hearse is inspired by an actual LEGO set that’s now out of print. At four locations, guests can meet exclusive LEGO Halloween characters, including two new additions to Brick or Treat — Mad Scientist and Frankenstein. Count the spiders in Miniland and receive a collector’s-edition LEGO brick featuring Vladimir the Vampyre.Kids also can trick or treat along the Brick or Treat trail, help the Master Model Builders create a couple of enormous LEGO models and show off their outfits during the “Everything is Awesome” Costume Contest. And there’s no need to buy a separate ticket — all Brick or Treat activities and entertainment are included with park admission. Want an unforgettably LEGO Halloween experience? Book a VIP package by registering online or calling (855) 753-7777. Be a Master Model Builder in-training when you help piece together a 10-foot-tall LEGO® model of Vladimir the Vampyre!

What will it look like? Come to Brick or Treat and see for yourself. Here’s a hint: The mini Vlad shown here was built as a reference for the giant model to be built in the theme park. During each Brick or Treat date, we encourage kids of all ages to help our Master Model Builders construct ginormous LEGO® models of Vladimir the Vampyre in LEGO® Kingdoms, a humongous ghost in Fun Town and a mystery mosaic guests have been building all month in The Beginning. There’s still plenty of time to enjoy our spook-tacular event. Brick or Treat continues Oct. 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31 and is included with park admission. Special VIP packages are available by booking online or calling (855) 753-7777. One of the most exciting additions to this year’s Brick or Treat event is a 13-foot-long LEGO® hearse on display in the theme park’s Market Plaza.  Created with more than 280,000 bricks, it’s sure to be a popular stop for photos but there’s more to this model than meets the eye.

The Entertainment team came up with the idea for a large-scale LEGO hearse then turned to our on-site Model Shop to bring the vision to life. Master Model Designer Jason Miller says the team decided to build a scaled-up version of the now-retired LEGO Vampyre Hearse from the 2012 Monster Fighters series (set No. 9464, for you collectors out there). Building the hot-rod hearse required the talents of every Model Citizen in the shop, under the direction of project manager Sam Dalessandro.  According to Sam, since LEGOLAND Florida Resort opened in 2011 his team has continued to tackle bigger and bigger designs, from a small tractor measuring only a few feet long to a massive model of Planet Earth. “As the size of the models grew, so did my confidence in the team,” he said. Unlike smaller creations, a mammoth model like The Vampyre Hearse requires the specialized skills of Jimmie Curby, the Model Shop’s animator. His job is to design a solid set of “bones” to build upon (pun intended), creating the moving parts and structures hidden inside the model.

Once the specially ordered LEGO bricks arrived, Jason led the team of Master Model Builders on a project that took more than 2,400 hours to complete. “Teamwork and camaraderie were very important to keeping spirits up throughout this build,” he said. “Not to mention a great selection of music.” Part of the spooky fun of Brick or Treat is meeting exclusive LEGO® characters who only come out in October. This year, the Halloween event built for kids has expanded with all-new fun, including two never-before-seen LEGO characters: Mad Scientist and Frankenstein. Returning favorites Wanda the Witch, Mortimor the Mummy and Vladimir the Vampyre also will greet LEGOLAND Florida Resort guests each date of Brick or Treat.  Here’s where you can find them all: Be sure to pick up a Brick or Treat event guide, which lists locations and times for all Halloween activities happening throughout the park, including LEGO character appearances. Brick or Treat continues Oct. 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31 and is included with park admission.

Which of the LEGO characters are you most excited to meet? Leave us a comment and tell us! For an awesome grand finale to your Brick or Treat Halloween adventure, look no further! This year we’ve debuted an all-new, brick-tacular fireworks show staged just beyond the sandy shores of Pirates’ Cove. It’s a perfect fit for our popular Halloween event since pirate lore is full of tales of skeletons, ghost ships and sea monsters. To set the stage for the exclusive, swashbuckling spectacle, Pirates’ Cove is themed to all manner of rollicking pirate fun — a favorite Halloween theme of mine and kids everywhere. During the day, a LEGO® shipwreck and skeletons await along with opportunities to meet Captain Brickbeard himself. At night, all guests receive free viewing glasses that provide a uniquely LEGO twist to the action exploding in the skies above Lake Eloise. Park your family in either of our Pirates’ Cove stadiums or the grass lawn in between for the best views.

The show starts at 8 p.m. every night of Brick or Treat; viewing glasses are distributed starting at 7. Brick or Treat continues Oct. 10, 11, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31 and is included with park admission. Special VIP packages are available by booking online or calling (855) 753-7777. Now through Oct. 11, you can win four Brick or Treat tickets by entering our Pinterest contest. Complete details are available online. Our annual kid-centric Halloween event, Brick or Treat, kicks off Saturday, Oct. 3 and we’ve got lots of all-new fun planned this year, including an exclusive pirate-themed fireworks show, new meet-and-greet LEGO® characters, and much more.
