I have been there a year and i have never been told that i need to do mandatory overtime. I work an 8 hr morning shift, i take advantage of the overtime. My shift is 6-3pm, i work from 5am till 730pm and i work on at least one of my days off. Amazon gives you many opportunities to grow. I know it's four days, but which four days.Asked April 2, 2016The work schedule at amazon depends on the department you go in and whar time they start. I work in the Amazon instant video dept and they have shifts starting at 5am, i used to work at 630 to 330pm, i moved to another ou that started at 8am but my manager let me have the 7-4 schedule, i moved back to my aiv dept and requested the 6-3 shift and i got it. If its a bunch of people going in and they pass out a paper with the available times and you number it from 1-20, 1 being your first choice and 20 your least choice and if you work on the weekends you get a dollar more. They let you know within a day or so what schedule you got but 90% of time you get what you requested.
Every 6 months you get a raise. Is it easy to request off?Asked March 19, 2016You have Paid time off that you can use at any given time and day, Unpaid time is what you accrue from working Overtime and you can use that whenever you want as well. Voluntary time off you can request it at anytime during your shift, if its slow you will most likely get VTO but if its very busy you will not get it. Vacation needs to be requested at least 48hours in advance, unless its an emergency a mgr can approve your request.
