Tracker - Episode 16: 'The Silent Witness'

After a narrow escape from a deadly ambush, Jay (the Tracker) and his ally, ex-detective Mara, uncovered a hidden ledger linking a powerful crime syndicate to high-ranking officials. But before they could act, their informant vanished—leaving only a cryptic message: 'Find the girl. She knows everything.'

The Episode Begins…

A dimly lit alley in the city’s underbelly—rain pours as Jay moves silently, scanning for clues. His enhanced tracker implant flickers, detecting a faint energy signature—one that matches the informant’s last known location.

Jay: (whispering into comms) 'Mara, I’ve got a trace. The informant was here… but so was someone else.'

He kneels, brushing fingers over a nearly invisible bloodstain. His implant flashes—a DNA scan confirms it’s not their informant’s blood. Then, a glint catches his eye: a small pendant with an unusual symbol—a crescent moon with a dagger through it.

Mara (over comms): 'That’s the Black Dagger Syndicate’s mark. But why would they leave evidence behind?'

Jay: 'Because it’s not theirs. It’s a message.'

Suddenly, a shadow moves—a young woman watches from a fire escape. Before Jay can react, she bolts. Instinct kicks in—he gives chase, leaping over crates and dodging through narrow passages. She’s fast, but Jay’s tracker implant locks onto her heat signature.

Cornered in a dead-end alley, the girl turns—her eyes wide with fear, but her stance defiant. She clutches a data chip tightly.

Girl: 'Stay back! I won’t let them silence me too!'

Jay (raising hands): 'We’re not with them. We’re trying to expose the syndicate. You’re the witness, aren’t you?'

She hesitates, then nods. Before she can speak, a laser dot appears on her chest—a sniper! Jay lunges, tackling her as a bullet ricochets off the wall. Mara’s voice crackles through the comms.

Mara: 'Jay, I’ve got eyes on the shooter—rooftop northeast! They’re not alone!'

Jay activates his wrist-mounted shield, covering the girl as more shots ring out. He taps his implant, sending a pulse that disrupts the sniper’s scope. A second later, Mara’s stun round takes the shooter down.

Girl (breathing heavily): 'They’ll keep coming… The data chip has everything—names, transactions, even the assassination orders.'

Jay: 'Then we make sure it reaches the right people.'

As sirens wail in the distance, Jay realizes—the girl isn’t just a witness. She’s the key to bringing down the entire syndicate. But with enemies on all sides, who can they trust?
