Opening Scene: A Father’s Desperation

Blackwater Creek, Oregon – October 2023

The rain hammers down as Colton Shaw pulls his truck to a stop outside a weathered farmhouse. A man in his fifties, Daniel Hargrove, rushes out, his face etched with panic.

Daniel: 'She’s gone. My daughter—Vanessa. She was supposed to be home two days ago. The sheriff says she probably just ran off, but she wouldn’t do that. Not like this.'

Colton steps inside, scanning the room—a half-packed backpack on the bed, a laptop left open, a single muddy boot by the door. This wasn’t a girl who left willingly.

The Disappearance

Vanessa Hargrove, 22, was last seen leaving her waitressing job at The Rusty Spoon. Security footage shows her walking toward the woods—a shortcut she always took. But she never made it home.

The local sheriff’s department has done little, writing it off as another restless young adult fleeing small-town life. But Colton’s instincts scream otherwise.

The Clues

A Disturbed Patch of Earth: Just off the trail, Colton finds freshly turned dirt—no animal did this.

A Silver Bracelet: Vanessa’s, snapped, as if torn off in a struggle.

Tire Tracks: Leading deep into the forest, where no roads exist.

Then, a witness comes forward—Marty Crenshaw, a reclusive hunter.

Marty: 'I saw a truck that night. Dark, no plates. Stopped near the trail. Heard a scream… but by the time I got close, it was gone.'

The Dark History of Blackwater Creek

Colton digs deeper and uncovers a chilling pattern: three women have vanished near these woods over the past decade. All around the same time of year. All without a trace.

The sheriff dismisses it as coincidence. But when Colton visits the last known location of the previous missing woman, Lacey Dunn, he finds something buried—a rusty hunting knife with initials etched into the blade.

The Suspect

The initials lead to Garrett Voss, a local taxidermist with a quiet reputation. His shop sits on the edge of town, filled with eerily lifeless animal stares.

Colton confronts him—but Voss is calm, too calm.

Voss: 'I hunt. I process game. Doesn’t make me a killer.'

Then Colton notices something—a mud-caked shovel in the back of Voss’s truck. The same soil from the disturbed earth near the trail.

The Race Against Time

With no hard evidence, Colton can’t bring Voss in. But when he checks Voss’s property records, he finds a remote hunting cabin deep in the woods—unlisted, unknown to most.

He heads there alone.

Inside, the walls are lined with polaroids—Vanessa, Lacey, the others. Alive. Terrified.

And then, a muffled whimper from below the floorboards…

The Showdown

Colton rips up the boards just as Voss’s truck roars into the clearing. A frantic chase through the woods ensues—until Colton corners Voss at the edge of Blackwater Creek.

Voss: 'They were mine to keep. No one cared until you showed up.'

A single gunshot rings out.

Aftermath

Vanessa is found alive but traumatized. The other women? Colton fears the worst.

As he drives away, the radio crackles with another missing persons case. Another town. Another monster.

Colton (V.O.): 'The truth is, evil doesn’t hide. It waits.'

Fade to black.
