Dina Returns to The Last of Us Universe

BREAKING NEWS: 'DINA' FROM THE LAST OF US PART II MAKES SURPRISE APPEARANCE AT COMIC-CON

San Diego, CA – July 22, 2024 – Fans of The Last of Us Part II were stunned today when Shannon Woodward, the actress behind the beloved character Dina, made an unannounced appearance at San Diego Comic-Con. Woodward, who provided both the voice and motion capture for Ellie’s loyal and quick-witted companion, had remained largely out of the spotlight since the game’s 2020 release.

Dressed in an outfit reminiscent of Dina’s in-game attire, Woodward took the stage during Naughty Dog’s panel to a roaring ovation. 'I couldn’t stay away forever,' she joked. 'Dina means so much to me, and seeing how much she means to all of you… it’s overwhelming.'

Rumors had swirled for years about Woodward’s potential return to the franchise, especially with HBO’s The Last of Us series casting for Part II characters. While she didn’t confirm any involvement in the show, Woodward teased, 'Who knows what the future holds? Maybe you haven’t seen the last of Dina.'

Fans immediately took to social media, with #BringBackDina trending worldwide. Some speculate this could hint at DLC, a remastered edition, or even her live-action debut.

Naughty Dog remained tight-lipped but acknowledged the character’s enduring popularity. 'Dina’s story resonated deeply with players,' said Creative Director Neil Druckmann. 'We’re always listening to what fans want.'
