Legendary Music Agent Dave Shapiro Signs Rising Star to Major Record Deal

Los Angeles, CA – May 23, 2025

In a move that has the music industry buzzing, veteran music agent Dave Shapiro has secured a multi-album deal for breakout artist Jade Rivers with Universal Music Group. The signing, announced earlier this week, marks another major success for Shapiro, whose keen eye for talent has shaped the careers of numerous Grammy-winning artists over his three-decade career.

Rivers, a 22-year-old singer-songwriter from Nashville, gained viral fame last year with her soulful single 'Ghost in the Neon,' which amassed over 50 million streams on Spotify. Shapiro, known for his hands-on approach, discovered Rivers during an intimate showcase in Austin and immediately began negotiations with top labels.

'Jade has that rare combination of raw talent and authenticity that you can't manufacture,' Shapiro said in a press release. 'She’s the real deal, and Universal understands her vision. This is just the beginning.'
