Andrew Lincoln Announces Return to Television in New Thriller Series

Former The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln is set to make his highly anticipated return to television in a gripping new thriller series, Shadow of the Reaper, slated to premiere in early 2026.

The British actor, best known for his role as Rick Grimes in the hit AMC zombie drama, has been relatively quiet since his departure from The Walking Dead in 2018, though he did reprise his role in the 2023 spin-off film The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Now, Lincoln is stepping back into the spotlight with a brand-new project described as a 'dark, psychological crime thriller.'

According to sources, Shadow of the Reaper will follow a retired detective (Lincoln) who is pulled back into the world of criminal investigation when a serial killer from his past resurfaces. The series, produced by a major streaming platform yet to be announced, promises intense performances and a twist-filled narrative.

In a statement, Lincoln expressed his excitement: 'This role is unlike anything I’ve done before. It’s complex, haunting, and deeply human. I can’t wait for audiences to see what we’ve been crafting.'

Fans of Lincoln’s work have taken to social media to celebrate the news, with many calling it a 'long-overdue return' to leading man status.

Production is set to begin later this summer in London, with additional casting announcements expected in the coming weeks.
