I will be looking at buying lots of lego for my son and wondering if anyone can tell me is it overpriced at any of these locations or if it is cheaper at any of these? We do have Lego here, but not as much and alot more pricey than in USA I don't think they are any different in retail outlets normally. However, it there is a sale going at Toys R Us, Walmart or Target you would save money. You can check online ads to see if there is a sale going and then decide if you should go to that store instead. Just clarifying, I want to compare prices with the Lego store at Downtown Disney and Legoland. Are they overpriced, is one cheaper or both the same. Thanks Jennifer, if they are the same as the department/toy stores I will get them there rather than making an extra trip to a department store. One attraction mentioned in this post Ranked of 150 things to do in Anaheim Yes, they are both overpriced and both priced higher than outside retail stores. If you were buying one set or kit then it may be fine as that kit may not be even available at an outside retail store.
If you were buying a huge lot of Legos then you may want to reconsider.Look in the Legoland shops as you will find a wonderful selection to choose from.Is it much overpriced or just a couple dollars? I will concentrate on hard to find/ character theme Lego and maybe try the Kmart or WalMart. The Target close to Disneyland will also carry Lego's. Heres a past thread on this subject that may be helpful to you. One destination mentioned in this post One thing you might find at LEGOLAND California is closeout and other discounted items you wouldn't find at Downtown Disney. Ontario Mills, a large indoor mall with lots of Outlets (mixed with regular stores) is about 1 hour away, an they have a LEGO store that carries some discounted items. But I would check one of the nearby Walmarts by Disneyland, the one at the Buena Park Mall or the one at Harbor and Orangethorpe are easy to get to by public transit. The third one is at the Anaheim Plaza, but I would only go there with a car.
I am about to take my family over to the USA and we are heading to Disneyland . I can't help you on pricing as of yet , but i do have a piece of advice . If you have gone that far and wish to buy some lego for your child/children , it's not about the cost . If you're gonna buy it at Target , then just buy it at home . When you go to the Lego store in downtown Disney , close your eyes at the prices and just pay the bill . Buying something for your child at Target is NOT as special as from an actual store called Lego .... The kids know the difference and the excitement factor is totally different . We as adults do not think as children , we know Lego is all the same no matter where you buy it , but your children will feel special and be the talk of their friends when they come home and tell their mates we got Lego from the actual Lego store at Disneyland .... The cool factor will be huge to kids , so forget the price and make the kids happy ! Have you checked the prices of the lego sets you were hoping to buy in the US?
My kids have been having a ball checking how much cheaper toys are to buy at places like Walmart compared to Australia BUT lego hasnt been cheaper. By the time it is converted to AU$ it works out the exact same in most cases. Just a thought :) Yes, we were there last year and it wasn't much cheaper than buying it in Australia. Also with our exchange rate at the moment I would say a lot of it would actually work out more expensive. Edited: 4:48 am, March 22, 2015 Lego Store in Downtown Disney is at retail price, the same as any Lego Store in the world. We are a family of Lego superfans and a trip to the Lego store is always include in our DL trip. Thats usually where my son spends his vacation money. It seems that the prices were marked up a little at Legoland, but we were last there years ago. My son was around 5 and was totally overwhelmed by the stores there. He ended up only looking at a Star Wars kiosk and picked the first set he saw. But it's so special to him because it came from Legoland.
