It’s easy when the kids are young to figure out fun party themes, but as a tween or teen girl- ah it’s so much harder! They still want parties but don’t like the little kid stuff. That’s what the 13 -year -old at my house is saying at least! I rounded up some fun teen birthday party ideas for her – she’s dying over that Instagram party! Thought you might like them too! And if you’re looking for a fun birthday photo backdrop, check here .
1. Instagram is always a hit with the teens! Isn’t this party just adorable!?
2. Have the kids make their own pizza! Girls love to cook so why not combine it with another fun activity!?
3. While an ice cream buffet is sure to be another hit!
4. Because the birthday girl is a bright star in your life. Throw an under the stars teen birthday party complete with star grazing and yummy treats!
5. A spa party would be the perfect fit for any tween girl!
6. I remember doing these scavenger hunts as a teen, here are some great tips on how to plan a successful one!
7. Nothing more fun than a backyard beach party! So many cute ways to turn your backyard into the perfect beach setting!
8. Wouldn’t a cake decorating party be so much fun? Each girl gets their own cake to decorate!
9. Of course, a mall theme would be super fun! Here are some great tips on creating a “Mall SWAG” bag for your guests!
10. Have an amazing race party – also a great way for the girls to interact and have a blast!
11. This neon glow in the dark party is a definite show stopper! How much fun would this be?
12. Fondue parties are fun for any age! It’s always super fun to dip yummy food into yummy chocolate!
13. Is your girl a reading buff? Then, this Vintage Nancy Drew Mystery Party is so gorgeous! I think I want one for me!
 14. Maybe you want to go all out…then how about a girls’ weekend at a hotel ? All the food, snacks and swimming you can get!
15. However, don’t just have any old pool party! Make it a safari pool party!

You should make your own gymnastics game.
What about a Christmas themed party ?
That is not something to joke about. There are many people commuting suicide. Never joke about killing you self. It is a serious matter.
Calm down Bianca, she was just saying how much she loves unicorns.
Commuting? you self? Go back to grammar school and take a chill pill !
dude it’s literally a joke. i get it that it’s not cool to joke about suicide but people say that all the time. seriously man that’s being idiotic
What do you mean? You want a unicorn themed party? Cause that would be fun! I had one last year.
everyone come down this argument started with someone saying they love unicorns and pretty much bianca came up with the thought of suicide
What about a Snapchat or Emoji themes? ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
Yes! Those would be super fun! Great idea!
What are u ideas 4 a Snapchat party?
Yes that would be great also you would create a photo booth with emoji and Snapchat props
these all look like they’re for 6 year olds.
Not really I like the brain idea and I’m 12
No there all great! Don’t make people feel bad by your negative attitude!
I’m 13, these look like overly expensive parties I’d plan for an eight-year-old
I’m 12 yrs old and i don’t really like the idea of these. My friends and i are into sports. This is a little too girly. The only thing i saw that would work was the ice cream buffet. But this website did give me a couple ideas! (Tip: have more variety. Not just party themes, but party games as well to go with the theme. Welp, good luck and try to expand your website more!
Agreed! Some people might like them I guess….. defo not me.
most of them look like they could be for older girls. And i’m 12.
Definitely not, I’m 13 and everything here looks WAY too young and like its for 8-10 year olds. Maybe some more original ideas other than pizza and ice cream? I definitely know that me and my friends wanted something more exciting and fun. I did an escape room which was really fun and a great idea. Something like that is more original and you don’t see it on every single website. Please dont fire back at me when you read this I’m just giving my opinion as someone who knows firsthand.
I was looking at bday party ideas with my 14 yo and she loves them.
IKR, Sara. I mean, if these are for teens, they should be boy & girl parties, just sayin’. Like, honestly, these really aren’t even teen ideas anyways.
What about a Snapchat themed party or even a favorite sport theme! 👻🌸⚽️🏀🏈⚾️🎾🏐🏓🏸🏒🥊🏏⛳️🏊🏼‍♀️
then. About the Instagram thing I would like it I have a lot of pictures on his Instagram like it sent to you we could do for my Instagram thing
what about a fear factor party?????
i would totally have all these party’s and I’m 13.
i agree they also seem a little more for younger girls i would not use these for a 14 year old
yeah… im turning 13 in 15 days, i am not into a lot of girly stuff im more of an outdoorsy type. i do already have a couple ideas, but i agree there should be more (not as girly) ideas on here!!!
My step daughter is turning 13 in August.. Gives me lots of planing time.. She is not into girly things so im trying to get some ideas, maybe you could give a couple? She likes to skate but thinking a skating party is to childish even though she likes it… She really doesn’t hang out with anyone except her best friend… She enjoys horror movies and loves panic at the disco the band.. She is not an outdoor girl or sports girl so im having a hard time.. I really want this to be the best day ever for her… Any input would be helpful. Young adults know what other young adults would prefer.. Thank you for your time.
Hi! I turned 13 last year and it was the best party ever! If she wants to invite a few friends over then she could play a movie that she likes and have music inside and stuff like that. Ice skating isn’t Babyish at all, if it’s something she enjoys then tell her to go for it! Hope this helps!
These are all some great ideas, but it’s really going to depend on what’s going to appeal to your child (and friends).
This is kind of sexist. There aren’t any sports ideas or anything and you just assumed that “girls love to cook.” Also, I am almost 13 and none of these appeal to me. These might begged ideas for 5 year olds….
I’m planning a party for my 14th bday but I’m not sure what to do? It will be in the night and all girls and we can watch a movie at the end and have music and a photo booth but idk why else. Any ideas guys?
I think you should add some neon lights before and jam out to some of your fav old songs!!
I am 12 and I just want more of a chill bday party not like full blown out and I was thinking kind of outdoor movie night but I can’t find anything I like. any ideas on that ?
Maybe you could set up a projector and a food table? Add in some camping chairs, or maybe some sleeping bags.
As a 15 year old, NONE of these ideas would really interest teenagers. Anyone above the age of 14 would most likely not enjoy any of these. However, if you are a teenager looking for some birthday ideas I have a list right here!
1) Go to the beach or swimming pool
2) Go out to dinner with friends
3) Go to an amusement park with friends
4) Have an outdoor movie night or sleepover with friends
Some of these ideas might not work for everyone, but here ya’ go! These ideas can work for both girls and boys. 🙂
That’s all well and good, but my daughter’s birthday is in February. Can really go to beach, swimming pool, amusement park or to an outdoor movie night. Lots of people born October through March. Outdoor activities are kind of out most of those months in most places in our Country.
yeah i’m getting ready to be 13 and i don’t like any of them they are not girly enough
You could go to a nail salon and spa with 2 or 3 friends maybe? Just a suggestion.
I’m turning 13 and all of these are too girly and even tho I am a girly girl all of these are way to girly for me plus they are way too childish for me I need this to be a great party because its going to be the first year of me being a teen so I need this to be great…
We are thinking of a zip line bday party or a ninja course adventure. My daughter is athletic and in sports as well as music. Mostly they like to hang out. We have done the karaoke and stuff even traveled with friends. I want it to be fun and she just wants to hang with friends. We will have both boys and girlfriends. I try not mak8ng a big deal over this. Late night but not sure about sleepover. Yet.? Kids do eat a lot,!,!!,,

Healthy Children > Ages & Stages > Teen > A Parent's Guide to Teen Parties

Guest List. When a teen plans a party, news spreads very quickly via social networking sites like Facebook or Twitter. Because of these new media, teen parties can grow too large for parents to control.
Time and Place. Teen parties often start late at night and move from house to house.

The information contained on this Web site should not be used as a substitute for the medical care and advice of your pediatrician. There may be variations in treatment that your pediatrician may recommend based on individual facts and circumstances.

As a parent, you know the importance of your teen's social life and that parties are a way to socialize and relax. But an unsupervised or poorly planned party can result in unwanted or even tragic consequences. However, parental responsibility is the key to a fun and safe party.
The following is important information from the American Academy of Pediatrics about teen parties.
Teens often expect alcohol and marijuana at parties. Some parents believe that it is better to allow teens to drink in their home so they can keep them safe. While this idea may be well intentioned, it is simply misguided. Parents cannot keep impaired teens safe.
Alcohol and other drugs impair judgment. Teens are more likely to have sex, be involved in a violent incident, or suffer an injury after using drugs or alcohol. All too frequently teens die from violence, unintentional injuries, or overdoses related to alcohol and other drugs.
Alcohol affects teens differently than adults. For example, compared with adults, teens are more likely to remain awake, to wander about, or to drive a car while having a much greater degree of mental impairment.
Communication and honesty are important to keep your teen safe . Teens whose parents talk with them regularly about drugs and alcohol are 42% less likely to use substances than those whose parents don't. Tell your teens that you expect them not to use alcohol or other drugs at parties.
Parent networking is the best prevention tool to combat underage drinking. Get to know your teen's friends and their parents. If your teen is planning on going to a party, call the parents to ensure that they will be home and that they will not allow drugs or alcohol. If this is not possible, don't let your teen go.
Parents are legally responsible for anything that happens to a minor who has been served alcohol or other drugs in their home. If anyone brings alcohol or other drugs to your home, be prepared to contact their parents. And if someone comes to your home already intoxicated, make sure that they get home safely. Help your teen feel responsible for this as well.
Parents may be criminally or civilly liable if...
Understand the local laws about alcohol and other drugs. Laws about alcohol and drug use vary from state to state, so make sure you know what the laws are in your state.
