Exclusive: 'The Wheel of Time' Season 4 Begins Filming with Major Cast Additions and New Locations

Fans of The Wheel of Time can rejoice—production for Season 4 has officially begun, and new details are emerging about what promises to be the most ambitious installment yet in Amazon Prime’s hit fantasy series.

New Cast Members Join the Saga

Sources close to the production confirm that several key characters from Robert Jordan’s book series will make their live-action debut in Season 4. Among them:

Ceara Coveney (Young Royals) has been cast as Elayne Trakand, the Daughter-Heir of Andor, a pivotal figure in the Aes Sedai political landscape.

Freddy Carter (Shadow and Bone) is reportedly in talks to play Galad Damodred, the morally rigid warrior and half-brother to Elayne.

A yet-to-be-revealed actor will take on the role of Faile Bashere, Perrin’s fierce love interest, signaling that the Shadow Rising and Fires of Heaven storylines will be further explored.

Expanding the World: New Filming Locations

Season 4 will introduce new iconic locations from Jordan’s books, including:

The Aiel Waste – Filmed on location in Morocco, bringing the harsh deserts and warrior culture of the Aiel to life.

The White Tower’s Deeper Politics – More scenes in Tar Valon as the Aes Sedai schism grows.

Cairhien – The scheming noble houses and the looming threat of the Shaido Aiel will play a major role.

What to Expect in Season 4?

Showrunner Rafe Judkins teased in a recent interview:

'This season is where the stakes truly escalate. The Forsaken are making their moves, Perrin’s destiny takes a dark turn, and Rand’s struggle with the One Power reaches a breaking point. And yes—fans of Mat Cauthon will not be disappointed.'

Rumors also suggest that Logain Ablar (Álvaro Morte) will have an expanded role, possibly setting up his future as a major player in the battle for the Light.

Release Window

While no official date has been announced, insiders suggest that The Wheel of Time Season 4 could arrive in late 2026, following an extended production schedule to accommodate its sprawling narrative.

With the Last Battle drawing ever closer, the Wheel keeps turning—and fans are in for an epic ride.
