Tracker – Season 1, Episode 16: 'Shadow of the Past'

Opening Scene:
The episode begins with Colter Shaw (played by Justin Hartley) receiving an encrypted message from an unknown sender. The message contains coordinates leading to a remote cabin in the forests of Montana—a place Shaw hasn’t been since his father’s disappearance years ago.

Act 1:
Shaw arrives at the cabin, his instincts on high alert. Inside, he finds an old journal—his father’s. Flipping through the pages, he discovers cryptic notes about a case his father was working on before he vanished: a missing scientist named Dr. Elena Voss, who was developing groundbreaking renewable energy technology.

Before Shaw can process this, a team of armed mercenaries storms the cabin. A firefight ensues, and Shaw barely escapes, realizing someone doesn’t want him digging into his father’s old case.

Act 2:
Back at his base, Shaw enlists Bobby (his tech-savvy ally) to help decode his father’s notes. They uncover a trail leading to a powerful tech conglomerate, NexTech, which had ties to Dr. Voss’s research. Shaw tracks down the scientist’s daughter, Lena Voss, who reveals her mother was working on a self-sustaining energy grid—technology that could revolutionize the world… or be weaponized.

Meanwhile, a shadowy figure from Shaw’s past resurfaces: Garrett Frost, a former Marine turned rogue operative, who may have been the last person to see Shaw’s father alive.

Act 3:
Shaw and Lena follow a lead to an abandoned NexTech facility, where they uncover proof that Dr. Voss was kidnapped to force her to complete her work for the wrong people. But before they can retrieve the data, Frost ambushes them, revealing he’s been working for NexTech all along.

A brutal hand-to-hand fight erupts between Shaw and Frost, ending with Shaw gaining the upper hand. Frost, bleeding and cornered, sneers: 'Your father knew the truth. And it got him killed.'

Climax:
With time running out, Shaw and Lena recover the encrypted research files—but NexTech’s private army closes in. In a desperate escape, Shaw triggers a facility explosion to cover their exit.

Final Scene:
Back at his trailer, Shaw stares at the recovered files, realizing his father’s disappearance and Dr. Voss’s case are connected to something much bigger. He calls Bobby: 'We’re not done yet. This goes deeper than we thought.'

Post-Credit Teaser:
A mysterious figure watches security footage of Shaw’s escape. The camera zooms in on a folder labeled 'Project Asimov.'
