Horror Icon Springtrap Joins Dead by Daylight in Terrifying New Crossover

May 28, 2025 — In a shocking announcement that has sent chills through the horror gaming community, Behaviour Interactive revealed that Springtrap, the infamous animatronic from Five Nights at Freddy’s, is the latest killer to join Dead by Daylight (DBD).

A Nightmare Reborn

Springtrap, also known as William Afton, the murderous villain from Five Nights at Freddy’s 3, will bring his relentless, mechanical horror to the Entity’s realm. Described as 'The Remnant' in DBD lore, Springtrap’s backstory has been reimagined to fit the game’s dark narrative, with hints that the Entity has taken an interest in his sadistic past.

New Power: 'Agony of the Suit'

Springtrap’s unique power allows him to stalk survivors with eerie silence before lunging in a deadly springlock-fueled attack. Survivors will hear the distant sound of winding mechanisms before he strikes, adding a new layer of psychological terror. Additionally, he can temporarily disable nearby generators by overloading them with remnant energy, forcing survivors into dangerous repair scenarios.

Map: Fazbear’s Fright

Alongside the killer, a new map based on the burned-down horror attraction from FNAF 3 will be introduced. The map features flickering lights, broken animatronic parts, and eerie audio cues, including distant whispers and the sound of winding springs.

Community Reactions

Fans of both franchises have erupted in excitement and terror. 'I never thought I’d see Springtrap in DBD, but now I’m too scared to play,' tweeted one player. Others speculate that this crossover could open the door for more FNAF characters in the future.
