'Power Book III: Raising Kanan' Renewed for Season 4 Amidst Record-Breaking Viewership

New York, May 16, 2025 – Starz has officially announced the renewal of its hit crime drama Power Book III: Raising Kanan for a fourth season, following a record-breaking third season that solidified its place as one of the network’s most-watched series.

The prequel to the Power universe, Raising Kanan delves into the early life of Kanan Stark (played by Mekai Curtis), the ruthless yet charismatic drug kingpin originally portrayed by 50 Cent in the flagship series. The show explores Kanan’s complex relationship with his mother, Raq Thomas (Patina Miller), as he navigates the dangerous streets of 1990s South Jamaica, Queens.

Season 3’s Explosive Finale Sets Up Major Twists
The third season’s finale, which aired last week, left fans in shock with multiple cliffhangers, including a violent betrayal and a surprise return of a fan-favorite character. Showrunner Sascha Penn teased that Season 4 will delve deeper into Kanan’s transformation into the cold-hearted villain fans know from Power.

'We’re just getting started,' Penn said in a statement. 'Season 4 will take Kanan to darker places than ever before, and the Thomas family’s empire is on the brink of collapse. The question is: How far will Raq go to protect her son—and herself?'

50 Cent Hints at Possible Crossover
Executive producer Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, who has been instrumental in expanding the Power franchise, hinted at potential crossovers with other Power spin-offs, including Ghost and Force. 'You never know who might pop up in Queens,' he tweeted cryptically, sparking fan theories about a Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) or Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) appearance.

When Can Fans Expect Season 4?
Production is set to begin this summer, with an expected premiere in early 2026. In the meantime, Starz will air a Raising Kanan marathon, including behind-the-scenes specials and cast interviews.

With its gripping storytelling, powerhouse performances, and gritty ’90s nostalgia, Raising Kanan continues to be a standout in the Power saga.
