Matas Buzelis Declares for 2024 NBA Draft, Eyes Top-10 Pick

Chicago, IL – April 15, 2024 – Lithuanian-American basketball phenom Matas Buzelis has officially declared for the 2024 NBA Draft, cementing his status as one of the most highly anticipated prospects in this year’s class. The 6’10' forward, who spent the past year honing his skills with the G League Ignite, is projected to be a top-10 pick, with several teams reportedly vying for his unique blend of size, skill, and versatility.

Buzelis, a product of the prestigious Sunrise Christian Academy in Kansas, has long been on the radar of NBA scouts. His decision to forgo college basketball and join the G League Ignite program in 2023 was seen as a bold move, but one that has paid dividends. Born in Chicago to Lithuanian parents, Buzelis has represented Lithuania internationally, most notably at the FIBA U19 World Cup, where he turned heads with his poise and scoring ability. His international experience, combined with his G League tenure, has made him a well-rounded prospect capable of contributing immediately in the NBA.

NBA executives have praised Buzelis for his basketball IQ and adaptability. 'He’s a modern NBA player,' said one Western Conference scout. 'He can stretch the floor, create for others, and guard multiple positions. Those kinds of players don’t come around often.'
