This is a great place to go and sit with a cocktail after the beach in the early evening before it turns into a real party place later on, with music and dancing and from , there are boats out to a nearby island where the club Carpe Diem Beach is situated. I thought the service was good and drinks no more expensive than anywhere of similar standing in Hvar, which is not a cheap island. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because we got talking to two girls on the Friday afternoon and witnessed them asking the bar staff if they could get them drugs. After the first bar man declined, the second more muscular, wearing denim shorts and white adidas trainers was able to arrange for a man in a blue hat this is how he was to be recognised to come to the bar and then meet the girls outside to sell the drugs to. Very unprofessional behaviour which he tried to do discreetly but was clearly obvious to many customers. We got the taxi boat over here for a day of relaxation and it definitely delivered on that. You can jump in the lagoon, order food and cocktails and just enjoy the sun! Food is okay - quite a varied menu with some fun things on there but you are paying more premium prices, as you would expect. Service can be very good or very bad. Cocktails are expensive and rubbish. Lots of ice and no alcohol. On that basis I recommend going elsewhere probably. Jerolim is more my speed, though much stripped down in all senses. Palmigana is the worst. Excellent location. Wide selection of non Croatian drinks. Same stuff I can drink at home. Would have preferred a local wine. Didn't come half way around the world to have a glass of Cloudy Bay. This is a high end bar on the harbour in Hvar, great music, fun crowd and open till late. Not pretentious at all, very easy going, but dress nicely and book a table if you want to get in, it gets very busy! Carpe Diem is one of the most popular bars in Hvar, but I really don't know why's that so. Waiters are rude and slow and value for money is low. Skip to main content. Their destination is Carpe Diem Beach, an all-night club with a swimming pool and semi-naked dancers. It was here, the previous night, that a rugby player from Leeds drunkenly sat on a sink in the toilets, ripping it from the wall and gouging his back. He ended up in hospital but tonight the year-old is back in party mode at another popular bar, Hula Hula. There he tears off his bandage to reveal 35 stitches.
