Local Treasure Hunter Justin Posey Claims to Have Found Lost Confederate Gold in Georgia

Amateur treasure hunter Justin Posey has sparked excitement and skepticism after announcing the possible discovery of a long-lost cache of Confederate gold in the North Georgia mountains. Posey, a 34-year-old history enthusiast and metal detection expert, claims to have uncovered evidence pointing to a hidden stash rumored to have been buried during the Civil War.

According to local legend, Confederate officials hid millions in gold bullion and coins to prevent Union forces from seizing it in the final days of the war. Many have searched for the treasure, but no verified discovery has ever been made—until now, Posey insists.

'I’ve spent years researching old maps, diaries, and military records,' Posey told reporters. 'After triangulating a site near an abandoned mine shaft, my equipment picked up a massive metallic signature.
