Jeffrey Dean Morgan Announces New Horror Series 'The Dark Hollow' – Set to Begin Filming This Fall

Fans of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s chilling performances are in for a treat, as the Walking Dead and Supernatural star has officially signed on to lead a new horror series titled The Dark Hollow. The project, greenlit by streaming giant Shudder, promises to be a gripping, supernatural thriller that will delve into small-town secrets and ancient curses.

Morgan, known for his iconic roles as Negan and John Winchester, will not only star in the series but also serve as an executive producer. The Dark Hollow is based on a yet-to-be-published novel by acclaimed horror writer Lila Graves and follows a disgraced detective (Morgan) who returns to his eerie hometown only to uncover a terrifying conspiracy tied to his family’s past.

In an exclusive statement, Morgan teased, 'This is one of those scripts that hooked me immediately. It’s dark, it’s twisted, and it’s got layers that will keep fans guessing. Plus, I’ve been itching to dive back into horror in a big way.'

The series is set to begin filming in upstate New York this October, with a planned 2026 release. Shudder has already ordered an eight-episode first season, with potential for expansion.
