Jeff Teague Launches Youth Basketball Academy

Former NBA Star Jeff Teague Announces Launch of Youth Basketball Academy in Hometown

Indianapolis, IN – October 25, 2023

Former NBA point guard and 2015 NBA All-Star Jeff Teague has announced the launch of his new youth basketball academy, the Teague Elite Basketball Academy, in his hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. The academy, set to open in early 2024, aims to provide young athletes with access to top-tier coaching, mentorship, and resources to develop their skills on and off the court.

Teague, who played 12 seasons in the NBA with teams like the Atlanta Hawks, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Boston Celtics, revealed that the idea for the academy has been years in the making. 'Basketball gave me so much, and I want to give back to the community that raised me,' Teague said during a press conference. 'This academy is about more than just basketball—it's about teaching life skills, discipline, and the importance of education.'

The academy will offer year-round programs for boys and girls aged 8-18, including skill development camps, AAU team training, and academic support services. Teague has partnered with local educators and former NBA players to create a holistic program that emphasizes both athletic and personal growth.

Teague, who retired from the NBA in 2021, has remained active in the basketball world through his popular podcast, Club 520, where he shares candid stories from his career and interviews fellow athletes. His charismatic personality and deep knowledge of the game have made him a fan favorite, and his academy is already generating buzz in the basketball community.

'I want kids to know that no matter where you come from, you can achieve your dreams if you put in the work,' Teague added. 'Indianapolis is where my journey began, and I’m excited to help the next generation start theirs.'
