Goddess worship was common because the female body and breasts symbolized fertility, birth, and nourishment. Think about it: a woman carries a child in her womb until it matures, and then produces the perfect food to sustain a fragile new life. It's an amazing process that happens every day, but is often taken for granted or trivialized.
The female form was seen as a reflection of Mother Nature. Ancient cultures, at the mercy of weather or natural disasters, couldn't count on a consistent source of food. Goddess worship helped guarantee survival. Why wouldn't you worship representations of an obvious life-giving force? You'd be crazy not to respect her power.

Women's curves were carved out of stone, or made from other materials, to honor this feminine divine. Here are a few of the more well-known female deities discovered at various archeological sites.
Goddess worship continues today, albeit in a less organized form. (I keep a little Minoan Snake Goddess at my writing desk for inspiration.) Artists are still fascinated by their history, mystery surrounding their purpose, and how these sculptures reflect the female form.
I ran into one such artist, on a recent visit to Seattle. Faye Baker is a professional potter who teaches classes at her studio. The subject of boobs (naturally) came up and she showed me her collection of "Goddess" pottery. I asked her why she created these breast objects, and said:
The Goddess work is about honoring our Mother, Mother Earth and all the Mothers and our beautiful bodies. I also make reproductions of ancient Goddess figurines like the ones found in Marija Gimbutas book " The Language of the Goddess. " This book is sacred to me it is always out in my studio giving me inspiration. These figurines are over 30,000 years old and have been found all over the world. The simple truth is that the Mother was the original deity we all worshiped.
Here are some examples of Faye's work. You can find more of Faye's pieces at FayezArt.com .
What do you think of these examples of breast-centric art? Would you display them? Should we be worshipping the curves of women's bodies for more than their sex appeal? What do you think of the ancient practice of Goddess worship?

Look up mastofact or mazophilia in Wiktionary, the free dictionary.
As a paraphilia , breast fetishism (also known as mastofact , breast partialism , or mazophilia ) [1] is a highly atypical sexual interest consisting of an exclusive focus on female breasts , which is a type of partialism . [2] The term breast fetishism is also used in the non-paraphilic sense, to refer to cultural attention to female breasts and the sexuality they represent.

Scientists hypothesize that non-paraphilic sexual attraction to breasts is the result of their function as a secondary sex characteristic . The breasts play roles in both sexual pleasure and reproduction . [3]

Some authors have discussed the modern widespread fascination with breasts among heterosexual males in Western societies, especially in the United States , within the context of sexual fetishism . [4] [5] [6]

Scientists hypothesize that non- paraphilic sexual attraction to breasts is the result of their function as a secondary sex characteristic . The breasts play roles in both sexual pleasure and reproduction . [3] Men typically find female breasts attractive [7] and this holds true for a variety of cultures. [8] [9] [10]

Zoologist and ethologist Desmond Morris theorizes that cleavage is a sexual signal that imitates the image of the cleft between the buttocks , which according to Morris in The Naked Ape is also unique to humans, other primates as a rule having much flatter buttocks. [11] Evolutionary psychologists theorize that humans' permanently enlarged breasts, in contrast to other primates ' breasts, which only enlarge during ovulation , allows human females to "solicit [human] male attention and investment even when they are not really fertile". [12]

Sexual attraction to breasts is considered normal unless it is exclusive and is therefore a form of partialism . [2]

There is a widespread fascination with women's breasts, and especially their size. [13] Many people, both male and female, consider breasts an important female secondary sex characteristic . [14]

Modern female fashions which focus on tight clothing and the display of cleavage have been attributed to an increase in breast fetishism. [15] Display of cleavage with a low neckline is often regarded as a form of feminine flirting or seduction , as well as aesthetic or erotic . Most heterosexual men derive erotic pleasure from seeing a woman's breasts, [16] and some people derive pleasure in their female partner exposing cleavage. When cleavage is enhanced with a push-up bra or exposed by a low neckline it may draw attention. [17] There are differences of opinion as to how much cleavage exposure is acceptable in public. [18] The extent to which a woman may expose her breasts depends on social and cultural context. Displaying cleavage or any part of female breast may be considered inappropriate or even prohibited by dress codes in some settings, such as workplaces, churches, and schools, while in some spaces showing as much cleavage as possible can be permissible or even encouraged. The exposure of nipples or areolae is almost always considered toplessness , considered by some to be immodest and in some instances as lewd or indecent behavior. [19] Art historian James Laver argued that the changing standards of revealing cleavage is more prominent in evening wear than in day wear in the Western world. [20]

Film producers such as Russ Meyer produced films which featured actresses with large breasts. Lorna (1964) was the first of his films where the lead actress, Lorna Maitland , was selected on the basis of breast size. Other large-breasted actresses used by Meyer include Kitten Natividad , Erica Gavin , Tura Satana , and Uschi Digard . Most were naturally large-breasted; Meyer occasionally cast women in their first trimesters of pregnancy to enhance their breast size even further. [21] Author and director William Rotsler said, "With Lorna Meyer established the formula that made him rich and famous, the formula of people filmed at top hate, top lust, top heavy." [22]

With regard to pornography , according to statistics from the websites Pornhub and YouPorn , preference for either breasts or the buttocks varies between countries and, on average, between world regions; the United States and most of Latin America and Africa is in the buttocks group, and most of Europe and much of Asia is in the breasts group. [23]

The term breast fetishism is also used within ethnographic and feminist contexts to describe a society with a culture devoted to breasts, usually as sexual objects. [15] [24] Some feminists have argued that incidents of breast fetishism have been found going back to the neolithic era, with the goddess shrines of Catal Huyuk (in modern Turkey ). The archaeological excavations of the town in c. 1960 revealed the walls of the shrine(s) adorned with disembodied pairs of breasts that appeared to have "an existence of their own". Elizabeth Gould Davis argues that breasts (along with phalluses ) were revered by the women of Catal Huyuk as instruments of motherhood, but it was after what she describes as a patriarchal revolution – when men had appropriated both phallus worship and "the breast fetish" for themselves – that these organs "acquired the erotic significance with which they are now endowed". [25]

Some authors from the United States have discussed attraction to female breasts within the context of sexual fetishism , and have stated that it is the American fetish-object of choice, [4] or that breast fetishism is predominantly found in the United States. [26] [5] [6]

Breasts can be pleasurable to play with for the one doing the playing and the breast-haver alike. Some people can even have orgasms from breast play alone. Others need breast play in combination with genital stimulation.
Here’s your field guide to the breast.
Like any other sexual act, consent is important when it comes to breast play. Keep in mind that some people may not want you to play with their breasts. For some people, it’s a matter of personal preference; for others, it’s a gender identity issue. Trans and genderqueer folks may not want their breasts touched.
You can and should as your partner directly what they feel comfortable with, or you can start slow by tracing your hand across their shoulders and collarbone area. If they tense up or move your hand away, move on to other parts of the body.
One of the great things about strap-ons is that anyone can use them. If you have a penis, you can…
Be aware that breast sensitivity can change throughout the month. There will probably be certain points during the menstrual cycle where they feel much more sensitive than usual. There may even be times when they are too sensitive for any sort of breast play. Don’t be surprised if your partner needs different things from you at different times.
Breasts also change a lot after a person has given birth and while breastfeeding. They may not want any breast contact for a while, or may need you to be much more gentle than usual.
We’re all unique when it comes to how we like our bodies to be touched, but there are few sexual acts more universally despised than the breast honk. I have never met anyone who enjoyed having their breasts squeezed this way (especially not as sexual initiation ). Please don’t treat your partner’s breasts like old-fashioned horns.
The same goes with kneading. It just doesn’t feel good for most women. Remember Jon Hamm’s breast play move on Kristen Wiig in Bridesmaids ? If you haven’t seen it, it’s the perfect example of lackluster kneading. Don’t pull that move.
In general, breast sensitivity comes from the skin, not from the fat of the breast itself. So honking, kneading, and squeezing don’t typically feel as great as stroking and kissing. These moves also neglect the nipple, which tends to be the most sensitive part of the breast (more on this later).
So you’ve done a little exploring with your fingers, and now you’re ready to take your anal play to
You don’t need to be in a rush to unclothe your partner’s breasts. Breast play can feel pleasurable even through clothing, and it can also be a nice way to tease them. Rub their breasts over their shirt. To evoke a sense of teenage nostalgia, put your hands up their shirt and play with their breasts over the bra. Once you get their shirt off, touch the parts of the breasts that the bra doesn’t cover, gliding your fingertips along the top edge of the bra.
Even once you’ve gotten your partner’s clothes off, you can still take your time teasing them. Spend some time tracing their collarbone with your finger, then kissing along it. Touch and kiss along the sides of the breasts, without going straight for the nipple.
Most people tend to squeeze the entire boob, or focus on just the nipple. That’s a shame, because the underboob and side boob can both be exquisitely sensitive. I’m talking about the areas where the breast meets the ribcage. As the names imply, the underboob is the lower part of the breast, and the sideboob is the outer edge (the side near the armpit).
This area tends to respond best to delicate touch. Very gently trace a fingertip along this sensitive curve. Start at the outer edge and slowly work your way around to the middle of the chest. You can also do this with your tongue, or with light kisses.
You’ve explored anal play for the first time, you’ve played with a few toys, and now you’re ready…
Nipples are sort of like clitorises: some people can hardly stand direct contact, while others need very firm pressure. As with the clitoris, it’s best to err on the side of being too gentle, then work your way up to more pressure. Start off by lightly stroking the nipple and circling the areola (the flat section around the pointy nipple). If your partner pushes their body towards you or makes a lot of noise, try gradually increasing pressure. Or just ask, “Do you want more?”
If they wants more intensity, try gently pinching the nipples between your thumb and forefinger. Slowly increase the pressure, and ask them to tell you when it’s too much. Or you can try pulling on the nipples: Cup a breast in your hand and pull on the nipple with your thumb and forefinger, pulling the breast further away from the ribcage. You can also gently twist the nipples—but be careful with this move, as it’s pretty intense.
Get your lips, tongue, and teeth involved as well as your hands. You can lick, suck, and nibble on the breasts. Try licking the curve from sideboob to underboob, or sucking or nibbling on the nipples. You can also get some temperature play involved by licking a breast then lightly blowing onto the moistened area.
If your partner likes a lot of pressure, try sucking and biting on their nipples. Again, start off gentle, and gradually increase the pressure until you find what works.
Fantasies come in many different intensities. Some are so compelling that you’ve just got to act on
You can use vibrators or feather ticklers to create new sensations on the breasts. Even running a silk tie or scarf over the breasts can feel great. If your partner likes more intense nipple p
