Hello to all readers! As promised, I ordered one of the cheapest robot vacuum cleaners in the world from Aliexpress. The model is called BowAI. It cost me 30 dollars, which at the current exchange rate is only $25. Shipping from China was free and took 3 weeks. Also available from Spain, USA, France and the Czech Republic.

It is clear that you should not expect anything special from this robot for that kind of money. But the main goal is to check whether he is capable of anything at all or is it just another scam, a toy in the form of a robot vacuum cleaner. We will check it now. So let's go!

Equipment

The BowAI robot vacuum cleaner arrived in this box:

It comes with a power cord with a USB connector. It can be connected to an adapter from a smartphone. You need to charge manually, there is no base by itself. Also in the box is a screwdriver, it is not clear why. Perhaps to disassemble the robot out of curiosity and see how it works inside. Well, either to remove the swivel roller to clean. There is also a cover in the complete set, the purpose of which I also did not understand, and an instruction manual on two sheets, of which only one page is useful.

In addition, the robot is equipped with a floor cleaning cloth. I have already installed it on the robot and will show you how it looks later.

Appearance

Consider the appearance of the robot itself. It is very compact. Diameter 26 cm, height about 7. Above there is a connector for charging, a single on / off button, and a light indicator. There is a handle for carrying the robot, although, given the very low weight, I don't see much sense in the handle.

The dust collector is located on top under the cover. Its volume, according to Aliexpress, is 150 ml. But I think that the real one is not more than 100 ml. There are 2 holes at the bottom. Longitudinal for suction of debris, and round for creating traction with a motor. A filter is installed inside the container.

By the way, according to Aliexpress, the suction power of BowAI in some stores is indicated as 1200 Pa, in others 1800 Pa. In reality, let's check if this robot sucks at all.

There are no sensors around the robot, including a soft touch mechanical bumper. But I would be more surprised if he was.

Below I see two wheels at the back, 2 side brushes, a swivel roller and a suction port in the center. There is a compartment where the battery is located. According to the stores, it is enough for 60-100 minutes of work, different numbers are everywhere. Battery with a capacity of 1200 mAh. There are 2 Velcro straps in the center for attaching napkins.

And this is exactly the appearance of the napkin with which the robot can wipe the floor. A napkin for wiping glasses and even larger in size. This is what the robot looks like with the napkin installed.

This is how BowAI looks like. It matches the $25 price tag.

Navigation

The first step is to check the navigation of the robot. How does he generally move around the room.

As a result, he simply hits obstacles and turns in the other direction, chaotically moving around the room. The more obstacles there are, the more often it changes its direction. There is no logic in his movement, well, I did not expect this.

Suction power

It is much more interesting to check the BowAI suction power. And surprisingly, from the 2 mm gap, he was still able to suck out a little debris. Still, the motor is a little, but it sucks. This is a stone in the garden of those robots that cannot show even such a result, and there are many of them.

Passage of obstacles

Now let's check the patency of this robot. And even a 10 mm nut, he will not be able to move. Why is there 10 mm, it is not able to drive on a dark rug about 5 mm high.

Noise level

The noise level generated by this robot does not exceed 60 dB. So if you give it to your child, at least the noise will not be annoying.

Dry cleaning on laminate

And the most interesting thing is to check if the Bowai robot vacuum cleaner is capable of collecting garbage. And we see that something he, but collected all the same.

Part of the debris from the stand got into the dust collector. So, albeit very bad, this robot still vacuums. And that's $ 25, don't forget.

Cleaning the carpet

But even if you move him to the carpet, he will still not be able to ride on it, will slip, so no matter how you want, he will not be able to clean the carpets.

Wet cleaning

Well, in fact, let's check how Bowai wipes the floor if you put a napkin on it. And here is a very big flaw of the manufacturer. The radius of rotation of the side brushes intersects with the napkin and, as a result, the side brushes catch on and stop rotating. And that's not all, because of this, the robot is not even able to move.

Summing up

So one of the cheapest robots with Aliexpress called BowAI was considered.

What can I say about this device. Of course, it makes no sense to regard it as a robot vacuum cleaner. It's just a toy that can collect trash. Perhaps Bowai is suitable for a gift for a child, as an alternative to a typewriter. Then at least some benefit from him. Nevertheless, he will be able to collect some of the debris on a hard floor covering. So if you think that you can save a lot and buy a Bowai instead of a robot for 30 dollars , which is able to clean and very efficiently, then this review will be a good example for you that saving is not rational. He is not capable of wet cleaning or driving on carpets.
