Review iLIFE V80 Pro same ILIFE V8 Plus: Updated Robot Vacuum Cleaner Without Turbo Brush With Large Dust Collector 2021 on Aliexpress.

Another novelty that came to our review is the iLIFE V80 Pro robot vacuum cleaner. Unlike the iLIFE A80 Pro previously reviewed, this model features a central suction port instead of a bristly petal brush.

As a result, the robot is less demanding in maintenance and is more suitable for working on hard floors. At the same time, the price reaches 400 dollars, but during the sale period it can be purchased for only 13 thousand rubles, this is already more interesting. So, let's see how the iLIFE V80 Pro works, what features and functions it boasts, and most importantly, how it copes with its main task.

Equipment

The robot is packed in a branded box, which contains:

  1. Charging base with power adapter.
  2. Separate water tank with fitted microfiber cloth.
  3. Warranty card and instructions in English.
  4. Spare microfiber cloth.
  5. Control panel with two batteries.
  6. 2 spare side brushes.
  7. Brush for cleaning the dust container.
  8. Spare HEPA filter.
Equipment

The kit lacks a motion limiter, and all consumables and accessories are present.

Appearance

iLIFE V80 Pro with traditional round shape, metallic gray. On top of the case we see a control panel with a display and a company logo. The navigation on this model is based on a gyroscope, a soft-touch mechanical bumper is installed in front.

View from above

The dust container can be removed from the back. It is quite roomy, with a volume of 750 ml. It cannot be rinsed with water. The filter is installed at the top. Filtration system based on HEPA, foam and mesh filter. From the front, the lid opens to remove debris, from below we see the motor installed inside, which is why the container cannot be washed. Nearby are QR codes for downloading a mobile application.

Dust collector

Instead of a dust collector, you can install a water tank. It also cannot be rinsed with water. Inside we see an installed pump for electronic regulation of the water supply. The tank holds up to 300 ml of liquid, there is no compartment for collecting waste. The napkin is attached to the tank with Velcro and elastic bands.

Water tank

Let's see how the iLIFE V80 Pro is arranged from below. We see 2 side brushes and a suction module that opens for maintenance. There are also 3 fall protection sensors installed at the bottom. This is all about the design of the robot. Build quality is average, as is the price segment.

The technical characteristics are quite standard, I can't single out anything special.

Functionality

You can control the iLIFE V80 PRO using a proprietary mobile application, remote control or buttons on the case. Most of the possibilities become available when controlling from a smartphone.

The application must be downloaded using the QR code in the instructions or on the robot itself, the sticker is located at the bottom. Installation will not cause any inconvenience, you need to act according to the manufacturer's prompts.

App control

In the iLIFE app, the robot builds a map of the room in real time, but does not store it in memory. In the basic settings, you can change the name of the robot vacuum cleaner, set up cleaning according to a schedule, view the cleaning history, track the status of consumables, smoothly adjust the suction power, select the level of water supply to the napkin and the cleaning mode. In addition, you can turn on the search for the robot by a sound signal and reset the settings to the factory settings.

On the main operating panel, you can return the robot to the base for charging, start the automatic cleaning mode and turn on the manual control of the robot vacuum cleaner. With manual control, you can independently direct the iLIFE V80 PRO to the desired place for cleaning, set the maximum suction power, turn on the perimeter cleaning mode, spot, or set up cleaning according to the schedule. These are all the capabilities of the robot.

When controlled from the remote control, you can manually direct the robot vacuum cleaner to the desired place, start and pause the cleaning cycle, select one of three operating modes, forcibly return the robot to the base for charging, adjust the suction power and turn on an additional classic mode, which the manufacturer recommends to use for cleaning on carpets.

Remote control

In addition, the robot can be controlled by buttons on the body. The control panel has functions such as start / pause, classic cleaning mode, schedule cleaning and arrows for choosing the time on the display.

Control Panel

Let's first test the iLIFE V80 PRO navigation in a room with obstacles. The robot goes through the entire available area with a snake. Around the legs of the chair, I did not shake it separately, as well as around the box. I didn’t get stuck on the clothes dryer, but I didn’t shake the perimeter after passing the entire available area. In general, navigation is standard, as for robots with a gyroscope. The device coped with the test.

Navigating within a room

Let's complicate the task and check how the iLIFE V80 PRO can navigate the area of the whole house. In our case, these are 5 rooms with a total usable area of about 34 sq. M. At first, when moving from one room to another, the map got lost and began to be built on a new one, but after that the robot was able to completely build the map and go through the entire available area. The map was built with an error, but the geometry of the rooms is more the same.

Building a house map

The iLIFE V80 PRO only took 35 minutes to clean, which is a good speed. But iLIFE A80 Pro moves a little faster, it removed the same area in 33 minutes.

Suction power

As for the suction power of the iLIFE V80 PRO, this robot vacuum cleaner is able to suck out debris from slots up to 8 mm deep, this is a very good indicator. This result was achieved due to the fact that the central brush is absent and does not block the suction, as well as due to the fact that the motor is installed in the dust collector.

Suction power

Dry cleaning on laminate

Now let's check how the iLIFE V80 PRO collects debris on the laminate flooring. On the stand, wool, hair, cereals and ground coffee were scattered in the corners as an imitation of dust.

Dry cleaning on laminate

After cleaning, the debris remained only in the corners, and this is a normal cleaning quality for round robotic vacuum cleaners. The main part of the debris is collected in the dust collector, part of the hair is wrapped around the side brushes.

Cleaning the carpet

The same rubbish was scattered on the carpet. And the iLIFE V80 PRO cleaned it well, but some of the hair and wool still remained. This is due to the lack of a center brush. As mentioned at the beginning of the review, this model is more suitable for cleaning on hard surfaces.

Cleaning the carpet

Wet cleaning

The next test will show if the robot can scrub dirt off the floor. She dried up a little. The robot vacuum cleaner scrubbed almost all the dirt from the floor, but few traces remained, including the area along the baseboard where most robots are not able to scrub the dirt. The quality of wet cleaning is standard.

Wet cleaning

In any case, the wet cleaning function implemented in the iLIFE V80 PRO is more suitable for delicate cleaning of the floor from dust and light dirt. The tank is large enough to cover the entire cleaning cycle.

Passage of obstacles

The manufacturer declared the passability of no more than 15 mm. Indeed, it is. The robot can move over 10 and 15 mm high lanes. A 20 mm threshold is beyond his power. The permeability is not the best among robots.

Passage of obstacles

Passage of dark surfaces

But the robot is not afraid of dark surfaces, and can move freely on them, not recognizing them as height differences, this is a plus.

Passage of dark surfaces

Noise level

Finally, let's check the noise level of the iLIFE V80 PRO in different modes. In polishing mode, the noise level is about 56 dB. At the minimum power it reaches 68 dB, and in the maximum mode it does not exceed 72 dB, as stated by the manufacturer.

Noise level

The noise level is slightly higher than most robotic vacuum cleaners, but this is due to the high suction power, which is also higher.

Summing up

The iLIFE V80 PRO has been reviewed and tested in detail.

Now I will express my own opinion about the iLIFE V80 PRO. I liked that the robot vacuum cleaner builds a map of the room, it is suitable for dry and wet cleaning, there are 3 control options, spare consumables included, high suction power and good cleaning quality on hard floors. These advantages will be enough for him to automatically maintain cleanliness in the house.

Among the shortcomings, I would like to highlight the lack of a movement limiter in the kit, not very good cross-country ability and the fact that it is not able to simultaneously vacuum and wash the floor. In the case of this model, I do not consider the absence of a central brush to be a disadvantage, since the manufacturer compensated for this with high suction power. And so, for your money, an adequate option for a purchase. Moreover, iLIFE specializes in the production of robotic vacuum cleaners and is constantly improving their products.
