Ali Farokhmanesh: Basketball Player and Coach

Ali Farokhmanesh is a former college basketball player and current coach, best known for his memorable performances during the 2010 NCAA Tournament while playing for the Northern Iowa Panthers.

Player Career Highlights:

Northern Iowa (2008–2010): Farokhmanesh transferred from Kirkwood Community College to Northern Iowa, where he became a key player under coach Ben Jacobson.

2010 NCAA Tournament Heroics: He famously hit a deep three-pointer late in the game to help 9th-seeded Northern Iowa upset top-seeded Kansas in the second round. This shot became one of the most iconic moments in NCAA Tournament history.

Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Champion: Helped lead UNI to the MVC regular-season and tournament titles in 2009 and 2010.
