Ryan Seacrest Announces New Nationwide Talent Search: 'America's Next Star'

Los Angeles, CA – March 27, 2025 – Television and radio personality Ryan Seacrest is adding another major project to his already-packed schedule. The multi-hyphenate host revealed plans for a brand-new talent competition series, America’s Next Star, set to premiere in 2026.

Seacrest, known for his work on American Idol, Live with Kelly and Ryan, and his nationally syndicated radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest, will serve as both host and executive producer of the new show. Unlike traditional singing competitions, America’s Next Star will be open to performers of all kinds—singers, dancers, comedians, magicians, and even social media influencers.

'This is about discovering raw, untapped talent in every corner of the country,' Seacrest said in a press release. 'The entertainment landscape has changed, and we want to celebrate all forms of creativity.'

The show will feature a panel of celebrity judges, with rumors swirling that past Idol judges like Katy Perry and Lionel Richie may make appearances. Auditions are expected to begin this summer in major cities, with virtual submissions also being accepted.

Industry analysts predict the series could be a major hit, given Seacrest’s track record and the growing demand for fresh, diverse talent shows. NBC has reportedly won a fierce bidding war to air the program.

Fans of Seacrest can also look forward to his upcoming return to Live for a series of special guest appearances, following his departure in 2023.
