After all, your backyard is an extension of your home – from your backdoor it’s an enclave you call our own and it’s a great place to entertain, or a perfect spot to enjoy some downtime with family. “A traditional backyard is a wonderful addition to any home,” says Glover. “What’s important is that you make the most of your property with some simple outdoor decorating tips.” Glover adds, “The backyard is one of the most versatile rooms in the house – and it isn’t even a room. You can do just about anything with it and have fun while you give it that makeover you really want.” So, while giving your backyard a makeover may seem like a daunting task, Glover assures it’s all quite easy. All you need is some creativity and you must always follow your intuition to help guide you. “There’s no rule book on how to give your backyard a makeover,” he explains. “All you need to do is get bold, get creative and think outside the box.” Glover says that one of the simplest ways to give your backyard a new look is to add lights.
“Lights are a great way to entertain your guests longer,” he says. “Light-ropes are a perfect way to illuminate a backyard and they are waterproof too. You can hang them across the ceiling on your patio or outdoor bar area, or twirl them around beams, fences or trees. Solar lights and lanterns are also a great way to light up your backyard and the garden. You can also hang lanterns from trees to give them that extra special look.” Another great way to give your backyard that makeover it deserves is adding new furniture. “All sorts of stores now sell really neat outdoor sets that are affordable and comfortable,” he says. “Just with one single lounge set, your backyard will look new again. Glover also suggests that using plants is also a great way to construct new spaces, and so are gardens. “Create an outdoor environment that’s exclusive, private and intimate by using living, breathing plants to define your space in place of walls and ceilings,” he says.
“Gardens also fill up spaces nicely too. There are all sorts of things you can do with a garden no matter its size. And I also always recommend to everyone that they should re-use existing materials or items in interesting and cost effective ways to add interest and character to their garden. These may include old pots, sculptures, or old furniture chairs, or old antique signs.” Glover says that everyone who has a traditional backyard should embrace luxury. There are literally thousands of products out there that cater to luxury landscapes, like outdoor flat-screen TVs, garden speakers, and outdoor furniture sets. Luxury items are great for the back deck, patio, or anywhere around the backyard.
