Read this document attentively. The words in its text mean what they do mean in the Oxford English Dictionary located at oed.com website.

The Circle is a channel through which designers ever active in black metal underground or metal music industry may expose topics worth of being exposed.

The Crossroads is a discussion group.

The Circle’s and Crossroads’ raison d’etre is to exchange knowledge, experience, and verbal contemplation. Joining the Circle and the Crossroads means agreeing to the following:

  1. Design is the planning and drawing of something before it is made.
  2. Illustration and photography are not design by themselves, but may be the object and means of design.
  3. The language of communication is English. (Exceptions are listed further.)
  4. Kids will be banned.
  5. Who can post in the Circle channel? — Anyone who can prove their involvement as a designer in at least one metal music event.
  6. Who can comment in the Circle and write to the Crossroads group? — Everyone who is not yet banned from the channel and the group, and who doesn’t provoke spammer suspicions.
  7. Posting in the channel: every post has to relate or be applicable to metal music design and incarnations, and/or designers. Work-in-progress, finished designs with authors remarks, articles you work on now or in the past, insights, financial aspects of the craft, smart notes — this is what we are here to read about and discuss.
  8. Commenting: relate to proposed subject, and never go mad here. Direct your substantiated criticism towards manifestations of design, without flame towards designers.
  9. Skepticism, satire and strong language are allowed. Profanity, especially in your native language, is allowed. But annoying motherfuckers will be banned, sooner or later.
  10. Being a nerd is a virtue. Being a philistine is a vice.
  11. Craft comes before art.
  12. In case a complaint may benefit the community — talk to admins first.
  13. You may only write from a single one personal account in the channel and the group.
  14. Think twice before you comment or write in the Crossroads group. If you make a mistake, prefer to correct it in the next message. Even though we cannot technically restrict editing and deleting of messages, you should refrain from doing so. All the editing is visible to admins, and you may get a warning for editing/deleting in case the manipulation will clearly change the meaning of your original message.
  15. No content allowed that would be considered illegal under international laws. In case your design contains extreme symbolism — talk to admins before posting.
  16. Metal music design inherently deals with ideas which may ever come to mind of metal music artists and listeners. You may not complain about anything you find inappropriate in the contents of design works. The admins work hard to strike a balance between rainbows and fylfots, but we recognize no thoughtcrimes.
  17. It is exclusively up to you if this enterprise will appear to you as a well of sorrow or a space of benefit and joy.
