llms.txt Build: can coding agents read your docs?

Can coding agents read your docs? When a developer asks Claude Code, Codex or Cursor about your library or API, the agent fetches your docs live. If it gets a JavaScript shell, a 403 from bot protection, or no llms.txt, it answers from memory and guesses your API.

• llms.txt: a curated index of your docs (llmstxt.org format) with one-line page descriptions
• llms-full.txt: all your docs as clean markdown in one file, ready to paste into an agent's context
• README: where to put them for your docs platform (Docusaurus, MkDocs, Sphinx/Read the Docs, VitePress, Starlight, Next.js, custom) plus fixes for anything the check flagged
• An AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md snippet your users can paste so their agent reads your docs

Honest notes

llms.txt is a proposal, not an official standard. Ahrefs found most llms.txt files get few or no requests from AI crawlers (study). The practical win is different: developers point coding agents at llms.txt or paste llms-full.txt into context, and agents that fetch clean text instead of JS pages stop guessing. If your docs platform already generates both files (for example Mintlify or GitBook), you don't need us: the free check will say so.
