Dino Attack (Dino 2010 in Europe) was a theme released in 2005. Each set included futuristic vehicles fighting against mutant dinosaurs. It includes 5 sets of different vehicles and dinosaurs and is the third LEGO System theme related to dinosaurs. It had a team of 4 minifigures (Shadow, Digger, Specs, and Viper) trying to stop invading dinosaurs. In the year 2010, strange mutant dinosaurs appear, and Shadow, Digger, Specs, and Viper must stop the dinos before it's too late! But these dinosaurs have abilities beyond what Digger thinks. Will the Dino Attack team stop the dinos? Or will earth be destroyed? To stop them, the members of the Dino Attack Team must destroy all of the dinosaurs. The Dino 2010 sets are slightly different from the Dino Attack counterparts. These sets take place after the previous sets mentioned, and are identical but instead of large weapons the sets are given grappling hooks and large cages for capturing mutant dinosaurs. The location also seems to have been changed from a ruined city to a deep jungle.
This theme is closer to Dino Island than Dino Attack is, because of the locations and they capture the dinosaurs instead of killing them. Dino 2010 characters appear on My LEGO Network. These sets were only released in Europe, while Dino Attack was in North America and Australia. A version of the Dino Attack logo bearing the head of a T-rex. De Dino Attack homepage van de VS website van lego, heeft een flash animatie waarin te zien was op een kaart van de wereld dat een paar stippen (dino-rassen) in roodgekleurde gebieden (de domeinen van de rassen) veranderden en zich verspreiden. The characters explore new areas, and go on adventures. Unlike other lego themes, which take place in a fictional "Lego Universe", most of the Adventurers sets takes places in real-world locations, such as Egypt, the Amazon rainforest, the Himalayas, India, and China. The only fictional sub-theme took place on an island where prehistoric creatures still lived.
The theme was discontinued before Lego acquired the license for Indiana Jones, to which the theme had numerous similarities. The first subtheme starts off with Johnny and company in a 1930s type of Egypt. The main goal for Johnny is to explore the ancient egypt structures, and find the "Re-Gou ruby" before any of his enemies obtain it first. Johnny Thunder: The leading man in the Lego Adventurers line. He is Australian and is a daring, compassionate archaeologist. He sports a khaki shirt with a red bandanna, black legs, and a bush hat. Dr. Charles Lightning: One of Johnny Thunder's companions on his epic adventures. He is a professor and is Johnny's uncle, but like a father figure to him. He sports a pith helmet, a white shirt with a red bow-tie, and green legs. He was later renamed "Dr. Kilroy". Gail Storm: The female companion of Johnny Thunder who is a budding journalist, recording all of the adventures. She sports a green jacket, red legs, and either a pith helmet or pilot helmet.
She was later renamed "Pippin Reed". Harry Cane: A companion of Johnny Thunder who is an experienced pilot. He wears a pilot helmet with a brown leather jacket and black legs. Baron von Barron: Formerly Sam Sinister's best goon. The main villain in the Adventurers line, he seeks to take things he considers valuable, including trapping dinosaurs. He has a scarred face and sports a monocle, khaki shirt with holster, grey legs, epaulettes, and either a pith helmet, top hat, or pilot helmet. His left hand is a hook. He was later renamed "Lord Sam Sinister", which caused some confusion with the character of Sam Sinister (who disappeared from the Adventurers canon after the name change). Sam Sinister: The boss of Baron von Barron. One of the main villains, he dresses entirely in black and is a representation of the archetypal "villain". He later went by the nickname "Slyboots". Señor Palomar: The main antagonist of the Amazon Jungle theme. He was hired by Baron von Barron. Rudo Villano: Señor Palomar's closest criminal partner. The name is composed of the Spanish words rudo (mean) and villano (villain). Gabarro: A sailor who works for both the adventurers and a main villain Señor Palomar. The explorers discover a new mysterious island. In search of new adventure, the crew discovers that there is dinosaurs living on the island. They realize what fame they could have with this new discovery. so they start researching the prehistoric animals. Unfortunately, Johnnys old enemies come along to capture and steal the dinosaurs from him. Alexia Sinister: The sister of Lord Sam Sinister, who helps him with his latest plot against the trio. Mike: A young friend of Johnny Thunder who helps him out on Dino Island. Mr. Cunningham: A man who is not completely evil. He is somewhat overweight. Along the way, the crew comes across many new allies, enemies, and artifacts in the Himalayas and India. Babloo: Babloo is trying to find the sunstone and save his village from the evil Maharaja Lallu. Maharajah Lallu: The maharajah is a ruthless tyrant who plans on using the sunstone to take over Babloo's village. Sangye Dorje: Sangye Dorje is a teenage sherpa with a lot of experience in the mountains. Ngan Pa: Ngan Pa is a greedy and ruthless yeti hunter. He is happy to help Lord Sinister for a share of the treasure hidden in the mountains. Jing Lee: Jing Lee is a teenage freedom fighter who helps Johnny Thunder find the Golden Dragon. Emperor Chang Wu: Chang Wu is a cruel and oppressive Chinese mandarin. He seized control of the city of Xi'an and rules it with an iron fist and a large force of bodyguards.
