A dosing pump operated by the battery supplies fuel from the tank to the combustion chamber, where it is mixed with air to form a combustible fuel-air mix. The resulting exhaust fumes are led off via a separate exhaust duct with muffler (which is why parking heater operation is not permitted in a garage or filling station). At a certain water temperature, an electric circulation pump then ensures further distribution of heat in the interior via the car’s blower.
