Hello my beautiful friends and followers ♥
Happy Tuesday wherever you are at in the world today. if it's not happy let's definitely make it happen together. Like they always say, team work makes the dreamwork. Haha.
Anyways, my lovely friends its seriously has been a bit since I wrote to you directly. I've gone from ups and downs but it seems that I've found myself once again. ( I hope..)
Recently, I've found myself writing again, and also have found myself in a joy of pictures actually. To be honest, I've really missed these candid shots... not that my sad ones are bad at all. I just like to showcase my emotions, because thats who I really am.
In this picture you see me running, from my little baby crow. ( we will bring him up a little later hehe) Running really from the world itself. Running from the negativities that have kept me trapped for so long and also just loving this second chance I've given myself.
Sometimes it really does feel like we are against the world itself, but if we take one step forward I just know that it will get easier.
So if you haven't taken that step, please join me in the start of it. I just know that this journey will take a bit to get to but I promise it's worth it.
Remember that life is always beautiful, it really is.

I spotted this exhaling Harley fan on Chicago's Mag Mile during a recent photowalk with JB_Atlanta. It's grainy because we'd just come up from shooting underground on lower Michigan Avenue and I hadn't yet adjusted my ISO. So, technically, I didn't shoot this. I handed my camera to my favorite daughter (to hold) while I tried my hand at archery at the NorCal Renaissance Fair a few years ago. Didn't know she shot this until I got home.

I had a laugh with these two pretty blondes. They looked like they walked right out of some swedish movie. I thought I shot a candid but, oops, I was caught ... next thing that happened is that they posed like professional models, lol. :)

there is a debate of what separates humans from animals, that is if you are not of the persuasion that humans are just a brand of animals . some say things about language, argument which is hard to prove, some say things about humor , argument which seem to stumble on a few exceptions, I am sure if one digs deep a gorilla would be found making faces to himself in the mirror or would he be? self-awareness in front of the mirror seem to be a feature as uniquely human as language or humor ...
.. oh and Adelaide city center is rather delightful ..

This quasi-king was standing in front of the Dom (Cathedral) in Cologne, Germany, so people could pose with him for money. Strangely enough, he was facing the Dom, when you would expect it the other way around. I didn't care, my Kodak oops Nikon moment appeared here, shooting him from the back side ;-)

it's been a week! wow, this has been awesome, because by doing the 365 project, it makes me finish my homework faster because i want to go shoot or edit a picture haha. and i guess this year, school has been going good! i've managed to stop some procrastinating and not touch facebook until weekends...
well today we had a yearbook meeting and i have to take 15 candids each month and 5 event pictures.. this will definitely be fun considering i have this project to do as well :P either way i think yearbook is going to be really fun this year.
funny thing was that we explained how we shouldnt be turning in photos that look processed.

National holiday celebrated with joyful open air festivities on the King’s Willem- Alexander birthday, held each year in April in the Netherlands.
This my first attempt to street candid shot after getting inspiration from joewig's work.
I like the chaotic, busy, messy, grainy, imperfect and disorderly look. I particularly like to see the expression of the main character on the left and the shirtless back of a pedicab boy on the right which added much impact to the photo.

Oops, just before I could get the camera lined up on this group of kayakers I was walking towards along the canal, splash, and one capsized and found herself floating in the water, laughing, then her friend ended up in the drink trying to help her. They seemed to be enjoying themselves though! And knowing how to deal with the boat capsizing is part of learning to safely handle a kayak or canoe anyway.

I spotted this lovely colourful lady, Sharon, while on my way home today. She only had a few minutes as she was a little bit late already to a friend's exhibition nearby, but was up for a portrait! I therefore tried a few different poses for her and this one, with a slightly candid feel to it, was my favourite. I love the vibrancy of Sharon's hair and scarf against the muted alleyway tones - I was lucky that one of the best alleys for photography was seconds from where we started talking ;)
Sharon is a curator and knows a lot about art as such; she also does some photography (no pressure, right?). Thank you, Sharon, for stopping despite the rush!
Tech details: this is the first portrait I have taken with my new Fuji X-T10 camera with the 35mm 1.4 lens - it's a crop sensor so the look of the images is similar to my usual 50mm portraits on the full frame Canon. But this camera is so lovely and compact - I can finally carry it around every day if I like! I need to get used to it and the slightly different way it works (I forgot where to change the ISO and I didn't want to fumble and make Sharon wait, so I left it at 2000... oops).
I didn't have a reflector with me so I have had to lighten Sharon's eye area a little in Lightroom, as it was a touch dark for my taste.

Blue Hole swimming spot in Salina, OK. Where the temperature might be 100, but that water is always COLD....crystal clear too! All sorts of pretty people about. Young and old alike. They have a no glass container policy that I love. A few broken bottles, and it just wouldn't be worth risking.

PROCESSION – A religious parade which always leaves from and returns to a specific church. Processions tell the story of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection using elaborate floats (called andas, see below) full of iconography. More than a dozen major processions (and many smaller processions) take place day and night in Antigua during Semana Santa. The procession tradition is said to have started in Guatemala in 1524 and, today, most Semana Santa processions include two main andas. The first carries a scene from the life of Jesus. The second carries a depiction of the Virgin Mary. Each procession is named after the specific Jesus and Mary that adorn the floats (i.e. Jesús De La Merced, Jesús El Peregrino, Jesús Del Milagro). I am hoping to get some candid shots during the Santa Claus Parade today. In the event of parade, it is always easier to get candid since everyone is taking pictures.
Candid means unposed. However the teens are so sensitive to camera and camera phones these days. Once you point the camera to them, the girls automatically tuned in and posed for you! :o)
Anyway their lovely smiles would be a great seasonal and holiday greetings for everyone.

God! I just loved these two! They were a couple that I caught at the Ann Arbor Art Fair. They were sitting against a church. At first, I was just trying to get a back shot of the guy (cuz his mohawk was pretty cool..and I prefer to get anonymous back or side or obscure view shots of strangers). Then, these two switch positions as I was snapping, then just sat there staring at each other, not speaking, and I was like dear God, it's as if they're posing just for me! But, I was some distance away and I know they didn't see me. THAT made me love these shots even more! I love candids! Especially, of unique people, emotions, or situations...
