The first time I told my parents I was gay.
I was like 9. Sorry, no Lifetime movie moments here. I can't even remember how it went down.
The first time I accidentally told the entire middle school I was gay.
I told one person, and they told one person, and they told another person. By the time lunch was over, everybody knew. The next day, the middle school held a meeting about my orientation and everybody treated me like I had only six weeks to live. Even the most popular girl was nice to me.
The first time I told a straight girl I had a crush on her during a class field trip.
Well, let's just say I don't plan on doing that again anytime soon.

It was last summer, and I got to go backstage and meet my drag idol, RainBowGore Cake. PrideFest overall was awesome, until, on the way out, my family and I ran into a bunch of gay-hating religious freaks holding super-offensive signs like "Jesus died to save you from hell!" I was pretty shocked. I didn't know there were people out there who thought this way.

There was this one really pretty younger married lesbian couple. When I see happily married gay couples, it makes me feel really nice, whether it be our neighbors, friends of my parents, or even classmates' parents I've never met in person.
The first time I ever got set up with the only other gay girl my age that anyone knew.
She actually turned out to be really nice, and we became good friends. Heck, we even got to go on a Chinese food first (friend) date together. I'm not just going to instantly fall in love with the first other lesbian I meet—I'm just like any other 13-year old girl.

EDMONTON — An Edmonton woman who seduced a 14-year-old girl she was babysitting was sentenced Monday to four years in prison.
Nicki Ann Gilbey, 30, pleaded guilty to sexual interference for the relationship she fostered with the young girl.The court heard that Gilbey and the girl and her stepmother lived in the same Edmonton townhouse complex in February 2009. Despite the age difference, the girl and Gilbey hung out, watching television or playing video games.

The girl’s stepmother had made a point of discussing with Gilbey that the girl was impressionable and “had difficulties saying no to people,” according to an agreed statement of facts.
Gilbey babysat the girl from about 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Gilbey would put her arm around the girl sometimes, often sleeping on the floor of her bedroom while babysitting.
One evening, Gilbey was kissing the girl when she woke up.
Gilbey eventually asked the girl to be her girlfriend. The teen said yes. Court has heard Gilbey instructed the girl not to tell her parents about the relationship.
On a number of evenings when she was babysitting, Gilbey would touch the girl’s crotch and encouraged her to reciprocate.
“These weren’t spontaneous acts,” said Crown prosecutor Tania Holland. “They were planned actions against a vulnerable child. This was no an isolated incident. This happened a number of times.”
On Canada Day 2009, Gilbey hung out with the teen and her friends, supplying them with drugs and alcohol. Gilbey took the intoxicated girl to her bedroom and performed oral sex on her.
The girl woke up “hurt, mad and depressed,” later telling Gilbey the relationship was over. She then told her father, who called police.
It was the second conviction on sexual charges for Gilbey this month. On Oct. 7, she was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to the sexual assault of a five-year-old she had babysat.
The two prison sentences will be served consecutively.
In a victim impact statement read by Holland, the teenage girl wrote that she “felt betrayed and used” after the incidents, but relieved that they were now in her past.
Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Beverley Browne said the crime was made worse by the position of trust a babysitter has with minors and the fact Gilbey had plied the girl with liquor.
Gilbey, dressed in a prison-blue sweatsuit, had a sullen look on her face as she was sentenced.
“I just want to apologize for my actions,” she told court.
