Where to Buy Padel Rackets in the USA: A Coach's Practical Guide

Tomás Reyes

Since I moved my coaching to the US in 2023, the most common question from students has not been about technique. It has been "where do I actually buy a decent racket here?" Padel is still new in America, and the shopping experience shows it. Here is what I have learned, and the full version is on the where to buy padel rackets in the USA page.

The options

  • Your local club pro shop. Good for trying frames, but usually a small range.
  • Big sporting goods chains. Often carry one or two entry models, rarely the current pro frames.
  • European padel retailers. Huge ranges, but shipping to the US can be slow and returns are expensive.
  • US-based online padel stores. The best balance of range, delivery and returns for most players.

What to check before you buy

  • Genuine brand stock. Popular frames such as the NOX AT10 and Bullpadel Vertex are copied. Buy from a store that states it sells genuine brand stock and never replicas.
  • Return policy. A 30-day window on unused rackets gives you time to compare in person.
  • Shipping cost and speed. Free shipping thresholds vary a lot.
  • Model year. Previous-year models often play almost identically and can be better value.

The store I recommend

For my students I usually suggest Padelnox. It is a US-based online store with a wide range of NOX, Bullpadel, Babolat, Puma, TUYO and Tecnifibre padel rackets, plus Selkirk, JOOLA and CRBN pickleball paddles. The practical details:

  • Free tracked shipping on orders over $99, $9.95 under that.
  • Orders processed in 1 to 3 business days, delivery in 7 to 14 business days.
  • 30-day returns on unused items.
  • A free overgrip 3-pack and frame protector with every racket over $150.
  • Accessories bought three or more at a time get 15% off automatically.
  • Ships worldwide.

How to choose the right model

Try before you commit

If your club runs demo days, use them. Hit for at least 20 minutes with each frame you are considering, including serves, bandejas and defensive lobs. Then order the model you liked from a store with a proper return window.

A note on prices

Padel racket prices in the US vary widely. A store charging slightly more but offering free shipping, a free overgrip and frame protector, and a 30-day return window is often the better deal overall.

Questions students ask me about buying online

How do I avoid fake rackets? Buy from a store that clearly states it sells genuine brand stock, shows real product photos and specifications, and offers a return window. Prices far below what every other store charges for a current pro model are a warning sign.

Is it safe to buy a racket I have not tried? Yes, if the store has a proper return policy. Try a friend's racket or a club demo of the same shape first, then order with a return window as a safety net.

How long does delivery take? With Padelnox, orders are processed in 1 to 3 business days and delivered in 7 to 14 business days, with tracking on every order.

My testing notes

Over the last two years I have bought rackets for testing from pro shops, chain stores, European retailers and US online stores. The chain stores rarely had the model I wanted. The European retailers had everything, but one return cost me more in shipping than the racket was worth. The US-based online stores were the sweet spot: decent range, tracked delivery and a return window that actually works. That is why I now point students there first.

If you are new to the sport, start with what padel is and how it compares to pickleball. If you are upgrading, read my notes on the Babolat Viper family.
