In findings that will no doubt make well-endowed millennials rejoice, 8 inches is the optimal penis size when it comes to making women orgasm, according to a survey by dating site Big One. The same survey showed that climax-inducing capabilities drop off dramatically in anything bigger than 9 inches.
Or as Big One so eloquently puts it, “Size does matter, but bigger is not always better.”
To “compare orgasm success rate with penis size,” the self-proclaimed “large penis dating site” surveyed 4,761 women across their entire network spanning general, casual dating and other niches. They asked the survey participants about the last time they had sex, how big their partner’s unit was and if they achieved “orgasm via penetration.”
The randy research — which displayed the juicy results on a cucumber diagram — found that 8-inch penises induced orgasms at a 44% success rate. Coming in second was 9 inches — nearly the height of a bowling pin — with a 42% success rate.
However, don’t feel bad if you’re not blessed with such proportions, because pleasure-causing potential plummets sharply with anything longer.
According to the sexperiment, both 11-inch whoppers and 4-inch willies help women climax at the same success rate: a mere 30% of the time. (One wonders if the phallic findings hold true for Jonah Falcon, whose manhood is the world’s largest at a mammoth 13.5 inches.)
And skill is just as important as size, per the research.
The study found that 3-inchers (which is the threshold for a “micro-penis”) aid orgasm in a quarter of women while “more than 1 in 10 men with 1 inch still hit the spot.” Not to mention that a large number of survey participants deemed girth to be crucial when it comes to experiencing rapture in the sack.
Nonetheless, the penis-measuring research is not an exact science. “These are averages, and there will always be exceptions,” writes Big One. “If he doesn’t measure up, he can still deliver, and equally, if he’s massive, he can still disappoint!”

Length or girth? You'll be surprised what they had to say.
The question of whether penis size really matters has long been argued among men, women, sexperts, and researchers. Although this debate has been raging since time immemorial, no one seems to have quite come up with a straight answer.
Now, as if men didn’t have to worry about their penises enough, there’s a new dick debate at play. We’re talking the ultimate game of Would You Rather: Would you rather have a short, chubby penis or a long pencil dick? Or, put another way, which matters more: length or girth ?
Typically, when we talk about penis size, we tend to focus on length rather than thickness. And this is actually unfair to guys, says Ariella*, 35, who points out that girth and length provide "two different but equally valuable feelings in the vaginal area. One is a sense of fullness (girth) and the other is the sensation of going in and out (length),” she told MensHealth.com.
So which is preferable? To find out, MensHealth.com polled 100 women between the ages of 18 and 71 via SurveyMonkey, asking them all about penises and what matters most to each of them. The survey was sent out through various social media channels, including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. (NB: Because some studies show that men who have sex with men tend to have higher levels of anxiety about penis size, for the purposes of this survey we limited our sample to women who have sex with men.)
You may be surprised by what the women surveyed had to say — suffice to say, there's more to your wang than meets the eye.
If you have a classic fatty , or what is known in some circles as a "chode," don't be bummed about it.According to our extremely scientific survey results, a whopping 70% of women preferred girth to length — or, as Mal*, 36, puts it, “What is length without adequate girth?”
In fact, only 18% of respondents said that length was most important to them. So if you're one of the 20% of men who worry they're too small , rest assured you're probably fine.
As it turns out, the old saying is pretty much true: it’s not the size of the boat that matters, but the motion of the ocean. “It’s not about size at all, it’s about how you use your size to your advantage. It’s all in the hips and teasing,” says Grace*, 26.
In fact, 12% of survey respondents said penis size didn't matter to them at all. Other studies have yielded similar results, with one UCLA and Cal State LA report finding that 84% of women are totally happy with their partners' size.
Ultimately, "the girth and length of a penis are less important than the man's ability to listen to what feels good for his partner. Girth and size don't matter if you aren't spending time on foreplay and warming her up,” says Dr. Kristie Overstreet , a psychotherapist and clinical sexologist .
Put another way, if you have a gargantuan penis and you're flailing it around like Godzilla unchained instead of paying attention to your partner's needs, she's not going to be impressed.
We've said it before and we'll say it again: clitoral stimulation, people!
The truth is that 75 to 80 percent of women cannot reach orgasm from penetrative sex alone. Sure, the feeling that comes with being penetrated can be enjoyable, but it rarely provides the big O.
So what does bring on the big O? Clitoral stimulation, of course — and that's true regardless or whether you're packing a gherkin or a firehose. “There are some men who don't understand that the majority of women orgasm from clitoral stimulation, or a mix of clitoral stimulation and penetration. They think that using their penis like a jackhammer is best. It doesn’t work, especially for those who may not be as big as they would like,” Overstreet says.
The results of our poll aside, at the end of the day the length vs. girth question largely comes down to personal preference. “No one penis size is ‘best,’ there is no penis hierarchy. For some, big and thick is ideal, but for others it might not be.” Emily Morse, sexologist and host of the Sex With Emily podcast, tells MensHealth.com .
At the end of the day, if you don’t know how to give her an orgasm (and especially if you don't even bother trying), the size of your member means next to nothing. “Remember that satisfying sex has less to do with penis size, and way more to do with everything surrounding actually penetration,” Morse says.

Sizing up: women prefer slightly larger penises, new study reveals

Women chose bigger penises for a one-time sexual encounter versus a long-term partner, showing that the ideal penis is larger than the global average
A new study has revealed that women prefer a slightly larger penis in a one-time sexual partner compared to a long-term partner.
Researchers from the University of California and the University of New Mexico provided women with 33 different-sized 3D penis models made of rigid, odorless, blue plastic (they were blue “to minimize racial skin-color cues”) to choose from. In total, 75 women, ages 18 to 65, took part in the study.
When asked to select the model which represented their preferred penis size in a long-term partner, the average response was 6.3 inches (16cm) in length and 4.8 inches (12.2cm) around. For a one-time sexual experience, the average plastic penis the women chose was slightly larger – 6.4 inches (16.3 cm) long and 5.0 inches (12.7cm) in circumference.
Previous studies had presented women with 2D, flaccid penises, so this is the first research to provide hard evidence that women’s ideal penises are slightly larger than average penis size.

The women in the study chose penises that were, on average, larger than those on supply. The average erect penis is 5.2 inches (13.1cm) long, and 4.6 inches (11.7cm) in circumference, according to a global analysis of 15,000 phalluses published last year. The interactive below, created by Nick Evershed , allows you to explore those averages.
Sexual psychophysiologist Dr Nicole Prause and a team of researchers also gave the women a questionnaire about their past sexual experiences. Their responses revealed a diversity of first-hand penis encounters, ranging from 2.5 inches in length to 8 inches. Some women also said that they had ended a relationship partly because of their partner’s penis size – 7% of women said because their partner’s penis had been “too large”, and 20% said it had been “too small”.
In August, Dr Prause spoke to the Guardian about female pleasure as part of a video series Vagina Dispatches .

Studies prove that women don’t really care about penis size, there is a certain length that provides the most pleasure.
While almost all men wish their penis size were bigger, a recent study, by the University of Kentucky, which polled more than 14,000 people, found 45 per cent of men actually wanted a longer penis.
The report, published in Daily Star, made reference to the study and added that while studies prove that women don’t really care about penis size, there is a certain length that provides the most pleasure.
According to a study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, a certain penis size gives women the most vaginal orgasms.
Researchers further revealed that men with longer penis make women climax more often.
Speaking about it, authors of the study wrote that research indicates that women's orgasm during penile–vaginal intercourse is influenced by fitness-related male partner characteristics.
They went on to add that penis size, and preference for a longer penis is associated with greater vaginal orgasm consistency.
Scientists found that women who prefer deep-penile-vaginal stimulation are more likely to have vaginal orgasm, consistent with vaginal orgasm evolving as part of a female mating choice.
However, only 20 per cent of women can achieve orgasm through penetration alone – so a big penis isn’t everything.
If you have a small penis, there are certain positions which can make your penis feel bigger, doggy being one of the best positions for men with smaller penises for sexual stimulation.
While men’s agony and anxiety about their tool size and spurred several companies, there are three steps which might help make penis look bigger.
Trim your pubic hair: a big mound of pubic hair can make your penis look smaller than it is.
Lose weight: a beer belly hanging over your penis can make your penis look smaller.
Get fit: While this won't help elongate your manhood, getting into shape will not only make you feel more attractive, it could also improve your sex life.
It turns out that the average penis size which gives most satisfaction to women is about 5.2 inches (13.2cm) in length and 4.6 inches (11.7cm) in circumference.
At a non-erect state they usually measures 3.6 inches (9.1cm) from tip to base and 3.7 (9.3cm) inches in circumference.
