Vietti Food Group Announces Voluntary Recall of Select Baked Beans Products Due to Potential Contamination

Nashville, TN – May 7, 2025 – Vietti Food Group, a leading producer of canned goods, has issued a voluntary recall of several batches of its baked beans products due to potential contamination with Clostridium botulinum, a bacterium that can cause life-threatening illness if consumed.

Reason for Recall

The recall was initiated after routine testing detected a possible packaging defect in certain cans, which may have compromised the product's seal. This defect could allow the growth of harmful bacteria, leading to a risk of botulism, a rare but serious illness that can result in paralysis or even death if untreated.

Affected Products

The recall includes the following Vietti Baked Beans varieties, sold in 16 oz and 28 oz cans with the following UPC codes and best-by dates:

Vietti Original Baked Beans – UPC 012345678901 | Best By: 05/2026 – 08/2026

Vietti Maple Bacon Baked Beans – UPC 012345678902 | Best By: 06/2026 – 09/2026

Vietti Spicy Jalapeño Baked Beans – UPC 012345678903 | Best By: 04/2026 – 07/2026

The affected products were distributed to grocery stores across Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi between January and April 2025.

Consumer Safety Advisory

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged to:

Check the UPC and best-by dates on the can.

Do not consume the product if it matches the recalled batches.

Return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund or dispose of it safely.

Symptoms of Botulism Poisoning

Symptoms may include blurred vision, muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing, and respiratory failure. If you or someone you know experiences these symptoms after consuming the product, seek medical attention immediately.
