SOUTH AMHERST, Ohio – Authorities in the small Lorain County town of South Amherst are investigating the circumstances that led to the creation of a video showing underage teen-agers having sex while young classmates watched, 19/43 News' Bill Younkin reported.
The teens involved were all students at Firelands High School. Firelands students, including senior Jim Wilgor, said that they've heard about the videotape, which shows a 15-year-old girl and 16-year-old boy having sex in front of other students.
"I don't think it's right, and I think they should be punished," Wilgor said.
Deputies said that the incident apparently took place on a late Friday night in the 16-year-old boy's home.
"There are quite a few people involved, as far as witnesses go -- witnesses who were there," Sheriff's investigator Det. Carl Yost said.
Yost said he believes that the girl was a voluntary participant. He said that the girl's mother found the tape, and called the sheriff's department.
The South Amherst community, including those people at Dewey's Barber Shop on Tuesday, is just starting to hear about the investigation, and they are in shock because their idea of children at play certainly doesn't include what is on the tape.
"It's ridiculous," Paul Shank said. "They have no morals whatsoever."
"It's unbelievable," barber Dewey Acord said. "It just doesn't make sense for young kids to get involved in stuff like that."
Now, the teens face a lot of questioning by not only detectives, but their parents as well.
Investigators said that they hope to wrap up the investigation and hand over the facts to the county prosecutor by the end of the week.

A children's charity has issued a new warning to parents after shocking footage of two 13-year-olds having sex was circulated on social media.
It is believed the teens filmed themselves and posted the video to friends on the popular app Snapchat.
The incident comes just a few weeks after police warned they were seeing large numbers of children sharing nude images of themselves.
In light of the latest video, the NSPCC has issued a fresh warning to parents.
The charity, which aims to protect the welfare of children, said that despite it often being an embarrassing conversation to have, it is vital parents talk to their children to help them feel "empowered to say no to producing these images".
One Plympton resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said she was shocked to see the video had been shared among young people in the area, reports the Plymouth Herald .
The concerned mother said: "Parents need to be more vigilant and aware of what their children are doing on social media.
"I have recently been shown screenshots of a video of two 13-year olds in Plymouth having sex which was added to their Snapchat story.
"This was broadcast to their hundreds of followers, probably all other children the same age.
"I know for a fact that this has been seen by many children all over Plymouth as the two children in question have hundreds of Snapchat followers."
The mum added: "This is a serious welfare issue, not to mention illegal and really very dangerous.
"It’s obviously completely inappropriate for them to be doing and then to broadcast it on Snapchat is disgraceful.
"Not to mention that this kind of thing could easily get into the wrong hands.
"The police have been informed and were already aware that this is happening.
"It’s like sexting but on a new and dangerous level."
Tahira Rauf, NSPCC service centre manager in Plymouth, warned Herald readers that when young people send images or videos on Snapchat, they lose control of who uses them or how they are used.
But more worryingly, that they can result in bullying by peers or the children being targeted by adult sex offenders.
Tahira said: “Sharing intimate selfies or videos is never a good idea because the young person loses control over the image as soon as it is sent.
“As well as causing embarrassment if shared, this material can also put young people at risk of bullying by peers or being targeted by adult sex offenders, so it's vital that parents talk to their children to help them feel empowered to say no to producing these images.
“We realise that this can be an embarrassing or awkward conversation for both parents and children, so the NSPCC has created a guide for families about the risks of sexting, what the l
