A sadistic teenager filmed the eight and a half hour torture ordeal of a 17-year-old girl as a "birthday wish" to himself.
The young victim was beaten with a chain and piece of wood, and slapped, kicked and punched in a flat during the sickening incident.
The degrading assault at the hands of one woman and two men also involved her being spat on, having drinks poured over her and being made to act like a dog.
Sheffield Crown Court was told the girl had been at her boyfriend's house but at 2am on December 22nd she went to the flat of a friend, Jay Blades, in the hope of staying there overnight because it was too late to return to her parents' home.
Blades was in the flat in Doncaster with James Canning and Amy Gaines, who were 19 and 20 at the time, and the group started teasing the girl about her boyfriend cheating on her.
When she responded by making a negative comment about Gaines' abilities as a mother, Gaines pushed her against a wall and started hitting her.
After the girl tried to phone her boyfriend for help, the group smashed her phone and carried out the horrendous attack.
Gaines attacked her, hitting her numerous times and dragging her about by her hair.
Blades held the girl's arms back while Gaines repeatedly punched her in the face, as 19-year-old Canning filmed the attack on his phone, instructing Gaines to use "martial arts" moves on their victim.
John Harrison, prosecuting, told the court: "Gaines got a thick metal chain and hit her with it countless times.
"Gaines said she knew martial arts and started kicking her in the face and legs. Canning was telling her to do certain kicks and moves and said it was his birthday wish."
Blades also punched and kicked the victim and spat in her hair. He then put the girl's hand on the Bible and made her swear not to tell anybody what had happened.
Mr Harrison added: "The victim was passing out and didn't know if she was going to make it. She had two to three panic attacks."
The incident only came to an end when the group called a fourth friend over at 10.30am to "finish the job" on the victim, only for her to call an ambulance for the badly-injured girl instead.
The trio then followed the victim to the hospital, after they had instructed the girl to tell the police she had been attacked in the street.
But they were overheard by a hospital worker discussing the need to delete their videos and photos from the night.
The court heard at the time of the offence Canning had been out on bail after making a 15-year-old girl pregnant.
All three pleaded guilty to false imprisonment and wounding. Canning also pleaded guilty to a separate charge of sexual activity with a child.
Gaines, 21, of Denaby and Canning 20, of Askern, Doncaster, were sentenced to five years in a Young Offenders' Institution.
Blades, 20, of Doncaster, was sentenced to four and a half years in a Young Offenders' Institution.
Judge Julian Goose said: "It was a prolonged and degrading attack upon her, leaving her helpless and defenceless.
"This was an appalling episode of cruel and violent behaviour to a vulnerable woman made vulnerable by what you had done to her over a period of eight hours.
"It does not take a great deal of imagination to see how this must have affected her."

As a child, Samantha Owens would dream of being a vet to 'fix broken animals' while brushing her My Little Pony's rainbow mane.
But her childhood dreams were shattered when aged just 13, she was pushed into prostitution - and dumped in strange houses with predatory paedophiles - by her 'best friend' Amanda Spencer.
For three years, she was systematically raped, often multiple times a day, by much older men at 'parties' in Sheffield.
Amanda plied her with alcohol and drugs while keeping the money paedophiles paid to abuse Samantha.
At just 13, Samantha had not yet reached puberty when she was raped for the first time.
But despite her child's body, she remembers men telling her she was 'too old' for them.
One man viciously raped her after she told him that she was just 11-year-old.  
She was so small and undeveloped that she was ripped open by the repeated rapes, often left screaming in pain afterwards, yet the horrifying abuse contiued.  
In her new book Pimped , which lifts the lid on an infamous sex ring in Sheffield, Samantha remembers: "With my head down I was led into the bedroom by my wrist, only daring to glance up through my hair once the door was closed.
"I winced as he lay on top of me, his weight crushing my chest, but I didn’t dare tell him.
"How could I? I knew by now there was no use fighting it. My scrawny frame would be no match for the various older men who were skulking around the house.
"Instead I lay in silence as he tugged at my knickers. His stubbly beard was rough and itchy against my face and I noticed he had a hole in one of his bottom teeth. He was disgusting and I shivered as he writhed around on top of me, goosebumps crawling up my arms.
"The drunken haze I was in helped my mind to drift and I squeezed my eyes shut, willing the nightmare to be over.
"Finally on my own, I curled myself into a ball. I could hear footsteps outside the bedroom door, laughter echoing around the house. I flinched, praying they wouldn’t come in.
"I was just a child and I had no idea where I was, having been directed to the godforsaken place hours earlier. "
Samantha said that she went on jobs for Amanda almost every day but would only be given £20-£80 each time while Amanda pocketed the rest.
She remembers how Amanda, who was two years older than her, once said: "‘You’re so young, Sammy, and the younger you are, the more money you get.’"
"I had thought about what it would be like to lose my virginity, imagining it on a beach somewhere, with candles and roses. It was childish but, at thirteen years old, I held onto that fantasy," she said.
But instead, she was brought in an alcoholic haze to a house full of strange, much older men, where she was abandoned by Amanda and her horror began.
Samantha said that many of the men she met were paedophiles, and she remembers how one man "grabbed at the flat skin on my chest and I think he liked the fact that I didn’t have breasts.
"‘How old are you?’ one guy asked me. He had pinned me down on the bedroom floor of a random house Amanda had sent me to.
"‘Sixteen,’ I muttered. His ugly face was inches away from mine and I squirmed, trying to look anywhere but directly at him.
"‘Liar,’ he sneered, smiling and grabbing at the cup of my bra. I still had no breasts to fill it but Amanda had given it to me to wear. ‘I know you’re not sixteen.’
"‘Right,’ I admitted without looking at him. ‘I’m thirteen.’ I didn’t know what difference it would make knowing my real age but the man still wasn’t satisfied with my answer and he grabbed me by the shoulders.
"‘No you’re not,’ he protested. ‘You’re younger.’ I turned to stare back at him.
"‘I’m eleven,’ I lied, and his evil grin made me feel sick. I knew he thrived off the idea of me being young. Paedophile, I thought to myself, as he raped me.
"I was so small that he tore me and I lay with my eyes squeezed shut as the excruciating pain coursed through me."
Samantha remembers another man hitting her in the face face and making her call him 'Daddy' while he raped her.
She said that many men were rough, with one repeatedly punching the floor by her head as he raped her.
She said: "As he raped me, he punched the floor next to my head. His fist was so close that I could feel his knuckles graze my ear as they smacked the floor with a thud.
"Scared, I lay frozen, terrified to move in case he hurt me. He thumped the floor over and over again, and each time I winced as his hand moved closer.
"My crotch tore and I knew I would be in agony for days. Afterwards I curled up alone on the laminate floor, dabbing the tears from the corners of my eyes.
"All of the days were starting to blur into one. I was sore all of the time, so I got as drunk as I could to mask the pain.
"I’d get so intoxicated that it wouldn’t be until the next morning that the pain would hit me like a ton of bricks and I’d writhe in agony, wondering what had happened to me the night before.
"A lot of the time I was too drunk to remember what was happening but there were some nights I wished I could forget.
"For three years my supposed best friend took me to places around Sheffield to be abused.
"I was passed from house to house like a toy and, with nowhere else to turn, I came to expect the treatment I received."
And although Samantha said that Amanda never physically forced her to have sex, she manipulated her emotionally, calling her 'sister' and making the vulnerable, lonely child feel like she was part of her 'tribe.'
This control was so absolute that Samantha remembers once, while she was at a house with Amanda: "out of nowhere, this guy grabbed me and forced me onto the floor. I lay still as he raped me on the floorboards, thinking over and over again how proud Amanda would be of me."
Samantha later realised that Amanda was her pimp, not her friend. And while jailed for stealing baby clothes, she met another of Amanda's victims - and vowed to get justice for them all.
Police built up a case and Amanda, now 26, was jailed for 12 years in 2014, having been found guilty of 14 counts of arranging or facilitating child prostitution, and two counts of causing or inciting child prostitution.
In April 2017, Spencer was served an additional sentence of three years for four counts of arranging or facilitating child prostitution between 2005 and 2012.
Four men, Taleb Bapir, and three brothers Christopher, 23, Matthew, 25, and Shane Whiteley, 30, all of Hackenthorpe, were also jailed for their roles in the sex ring.
But Samantha, now 25 and a mum-of-two, pulled through, and wants to use her experiences to help other people who have been groomed know that they are not alone.
She lives with her partner and their two little boys, who she is hugely protective of.
“I just hope I don’t have a daughter as I really don’t want a girl,” Samantha told Sun Online .
“I know men and boys get abused but I’d be absolutely terrified. I would never let her out of the house.”

So you think your mother-in-law is torturous? Or your boss with the lame sense of humor? Get a load of the following nine insane torture techniques used in different parts of the world to kill, dismember, or otherwise cause inordinate amounts of pain. We promise: you'll never use the word torturous the same way again.
As you probably know, bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants on earth. Although there's no real proof that it was used, Chinese Bamboo Torture took advantage of bamboo's propensity to grow quickly. How quickly? Well, some varieties in parts of China grow as much as three feet in a single day. In addition to ancient China, many believe that the Japanese used Chinese Bamboo Torture on POWs during WWII.
1. Tips of living bamboo were cut sharp to create a spear.
2. The victim was suspended horizontally above such a patch of bamboo.
3. The bamboo pierced through the victim's skin and continued to grow through his abdomen, ultimately causing one of the most painful deaths ever inflicted.

Like bamboo torture, the Iron Maiden is sometimes thought to be fictional. But this torture technique, using an upright sarcophagus with spikes on the inner surfaces, definitely existed. Invented in the late 18th century, this is the device that the metal band Iron Maiden took their name from.
1. The victim was forced into the spiked sarcophagus and shut in.
2. The short spikes welded into the chamber weren't long enough to kill anyone, but did plenty of damage and inflicted enough pain that an interrogator on the outside was usually able to get a confession.
3. If not, nails and other sharp objects like knives, were inserted into the chamber, inflicting more pain.
4. Generally, between the spikes and the knives, victims would bleed to death after said confession, or sometimes before.
5. Some Iron Maidens also had spikes in place to puncture the eyes.
The word scaphism comes from the Greek word skaphe, meaning scooped or hollowed. An ancient Persian method of torture, wherein the victim was eaten alive by bugs, scaphism was also known as "the boats" for reasons you'll understand momentarily.
1. A captive was stripped naked and chained to a pair of back-to-back narrow rowboats or hollowed out tree trunks.
2. The captive was then left to float on a stagnant pond.
3. He was then force fed copious amounts of milk and honey.
4. The victim would develop serious diarrhea, which would in turn attract insects.
5. The insects would then feed on the victim's exposed flesh.
The Choke Pear was popular during the Middle Ages. Crimes worthy of choke pear torture included blasphemy, lying, having a miscarriage, and homosexual intercourse. Depending on the crime, the torturer would insert the pear into a different part of the criminal's body. Women usually got it in the vagina, homosexuals in the anus, and liars and blasphemers in the mouth.
1. An instrument consisting of sharpened leaf-like segments was inserted into the victim's orifice.
2. The torturer turned a screw at the top, causing the leafs to open, slowly.
3. As the leafs separated, severe internal mutilation occurred.
Designed in ancient Greece, the Brazen Bull was a hollowed brass bull statue designed and invented by Perillos of Athens, commissioned, if you will, by Phalaris, the tyrant of Acragas in Sicily.
1. Victims were locked into the hollowed brass bull.
2. A fire was lit under the bull.
3. The victim was roasted alive.
4. The design of the bull's head was such that the victim's screams were made to sound like the bull roaring.
5. The scorched remains were often made into bracelets and sold at market.
One of the most widely recognized forms of bizarre torture, thanks in part to the movie 2 Fast 2 Furious , rat torture is thought to be an ancient Chinese technique. Below, however, we'll describe a particular form of rat torture developed by Diederik Sonoy, a leader during the Dutch revolt of the 16th century.
1. A prisoner was chained down naked on a table.
2. Large, heavy bowls with disease-infected rats were placed open-side down on the prisoner.
3. Hot charcoal was piled on top of the bowls, agitating the rats.
4. In an attempt to escape from the hot bowls, the rats would gnaw their way through the victim's flesh.
The Spanish Inquisition was known for its many torture devices, and the Judas Cradle was one of the most painful. Also known as the Judas chair, victims usually died of infection, as the seat was never cleaned between uses.
1. The victim was placed on top of a pyramid-shaped seat, with both legs tied together.
2. The chair's point was usually inserted into the anus or vagina, stretching the orifice.
3. The victim was slowly lowered via ropes.
4. The torture might last a few hours or, sometimes, a few days.
For thousands of years, crushing by elephant was a commonly practiced form of torture in Southeast Asia and India. Given the animals' sheer weight, intelligence and susceptibility to training (as we know from the circus), elephants were an obvious choice.
1. Victims were tied down on the floor.
2. Elephants were led into the room to stomp on the victim's head.
3. Often they prolonged the agony by first dismembering victims.
What short list of torture techniques would be complete without the infamous rack? Consisting of a long wooden board and a couple of rollers, the rack was first used on early Christian martyrs like Vincent of Saragossa, who was tortured to death around the year 300. And, as we've seen all too often in bad Hollywood films, as interrogation assistance, simply forcing a prisoner to watch someone else suffering on the rack was generally enough to get him talking. Anyone who survived the rack was generally unable to use his muscles for the remainder of his life. Good times!
1. The victim was chained to rollers at both ends of the device's wooden frame and then pulled in opposite directions.
2. By ratcheting up the tension on the rollers, the victim's limbs were ripped out of their sockets.
