• The app version (you can find it in Settings, scroll to the bottom).

Frequently asked questions

Is the app really free?

Yes. Free Teleprompter has no ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription, and no paid version. Every feature is available to everyone, forever. The app is supported by Letterly, a separate voice-to-text product.

Do my scripts get sent anywhere?

No. All scripts and settings are stored only on your device. The app does not connect to the internet, does not collect data, and does not include any analytics or trackers. See our Privacy Policy for details.

I deleted the app and now my scripts are gone. Can you recover them?

Unfortunately no. Because we never upload your scripts anywhere, when you delete the app the operating system removes everything along with it. We have no copy of your data on our side. We recommend keeping a backup of important scripts in a separate notes app.

How does Mirror & Rotate work?

Mirror modes are for use with a physical teleprompter rig — a transparent mirror placed in front of your camera lens. The mirror flips the text, so what your eyes read on the rig appears normal.

• Mirror V flips the text vertically — for rigs where the phone is mounted upside down above the lens.
• Mirror H flips the text horizontally — for rigs where the mirror reflects the phone sideways.
• Rotate 180° rotates the entire text — for some non-standard mounts.

If you are not using a physical rig and just reading from the screen, leave all three off.

Can I import a Word document or PDF?

Not directly in this version. You can copy text from any document, app, or website on your device and paste it into a new script. We are considering a direct .txt / .docx / .pdf import for a future update.

Does the app support Bluetooth pedals or keyboards?

Not in the current version. Adding Bluetooth remote and pedal support is on our roadmap.

The text scrolls too fast / too slow.

Use the Speed −/+ buttons on the player screen to adjust live. The value you set is saved and used the next time you open the player. You can also drag the text with your finger to scroll manually — the auto-scroll will pause.

How do I hide the controls during recording?

Tap the eye icon at the bottom right of the player. While playing, all controls will hide. They reappear when you pause. To exit this mode, tap the eye icon again.

Why is everything in English?

Right now the app's interface is English only. Multilingual interface is planned for a future update. You can read scripts in any language — the app supports any text your keyboard can type.
