I have an older and younger sister.
My mother tended to do all of the spanking she said to ensure the punishments were fair.
When my older sister got to 17 mum decided she was old enough to punish us. On the first occasion she gave me 6 strokes of the cane in front of Mum bare bottom.
After that she had to phone Mum for permission to cane us and I was caned several times my her. She mainly called my younger sister in to the room when she caned me.
When I got to 17 I suggested I should cane my younger sister bare bottom but Mum did not approve and I got 6 strokes of the cane on my bottom from Mum with my 2 sisters in the room. My older sister caned my younger sister a few times.
What did shock my older sister about 2 weeks after she caned me Mum caned her.
I was spanked by my older sister a few times as she baby sat me. She was 11 years older than me so not a big deal with that age gap. Clothes on and across her knee with her hand.
My older sister spanked me as well. Mom stopped spanking us at 10, but sis is 5 years older and gave herself permission to spank me. So at 10, I started getting bare bottom spankings from my 15 year old sister, over her knee with her hairbrush whenever she thought I deserved one. My parents never admitted they knew (we did it after school before they got home from work) but I'm sure they did.
A sister should in any case have the right to spank her brothers, no matter if she's older or younger. To maintain the mother's authority, she should give the boy, who was spanked by his sister, a follow up spanking. the girls should not be spanked at all.

20 year old college student still spanked at home

Obviously using a throwaway here: I am a 20 year old who attends community college full-time and works a part-time job. I still live at home with my parents, who are generally very supportive and nice to me. They help me pay for college and let me live at home rent free. Their only condition is that as long as I live under their roof, I follow their rules and do my portion of the household chores. The condition for them paying part of my tuition is that I get good grades. That’s all fine and perfectly acceptable to me. It’s a pretty sweet deal actually. However, my parents are firm believers in corporal punishment: If I ever break any of their rules, don’t do my chores to their satisfaction, or receive a single poor grade, I still get spanked like when I was a child. Just yesterday I got my butt paddled for forgetting to take out the garbage can and recycling bin on pickup day.
Needless to say, I am very unhappy with this part of our arrangement. I find it extremely humiliating to be physically punished like that. I am technically an adult, after all! Really the only way to get away from this, is for me to move out and stop accepting financial support from them. This is something I don’t think I can currently afford. My part-time job pays just enough to cover my portion of my tuition, and I really don’t want to take out student loans (I plan on transferring to a four year institution after finishing up community college, so I possibly will need to take out a few loans in the near future, even though my parents have already said they’d consider continuing paying part of my tuition).
What can I do? Again, I love my parents and we generally have a decent relationship. I truly appreciate their support and really like living in their house for the most part. I just don’t want to be spanked anymore!
I think sometimes, ingrained patterns and cultural biases persist way longer than they should. I think if your parents are reasonable people, you can make them understand this. Here's what I suggest:
One night soon, at dinner, or some time when you are all together and attentive, you say something like: 'Mom, Dad, I love you and feel very grateful for the opportunity you have given me to live with you and pursue an education. I want to live by your rules and respect the things you ask of me, but I would like to ask you for something. I find I am too old for spankings and I'd like to be treated more like an adult so I was hoping we could come up with a more suitable punishment together. Perhaps I could e rounded or cut off from the internet when I don't respect your rules?'
I think if you approach this like an adult, they might be willing to treat you more like an adult.
I have tried talking to them before. Your points are way better than what I said at the time, though. I should bring it up again, like you said. Thanks for the advice!
And also the law in most places finds that I am legally too old for spankings, prepare with documentation.
The Parents are clearly not reasonable if they are treating their adult child like a kid still.

No technicality involved you are an adult. You may still be financially dependent on them but that is irrelevant. Simply don't let them hit you any more. This is domestic violence.

You may just need to bite the bullet, take out some loans, and move out if that’s what it takes. It really isn’t a big deal. They’d be easily paid off and you can actually be deemed an independent student by having a social worker in your county’s human services division write a letter to your college’s financial aid department saying that due to abuse, you cannot live with your parents and therefore you need more financial aid, which means grants and scholarships.
I personally had to do that and that is why I get $12,000 a year in scholarships and grants, despite getting free tuition already.
Spanking your adult child is fucking sick and it is unhealthy for that to be a condition you have to accept in order to live with them.
Just remember that you need to take advantage of your resources!
Wow, I did not know about this! I will look into the human services division option. Not sure if that's what it is called here, but I can find out. I have been hesitant to talk to anybody at my college, because I don't want to destroy my relationship with my parents, and I don't want other people to know about it, if it can be avoided.
You are a 20 year old man. They start trying to spank you, you spank em back.
Really though, if they try and do this again, don't let them do it. Stand up, look them in the eye and say 'no, this isn't happening again'. You are a grown adult.

Dude honestly, sounds like a sexual pleasure for them. If it is your father who majority does the spanking, it sounds like he might get off to it. I’ve never heard of a 20 year old female getting spanked for stuff like that or in general by their parents.
I might bring it up like: “listen I realize if I’m not doing things the way you see fit that you believe in corporal punishment, but I’m way to old to be spanked like this. Tell them that it is physically inappropriate to be spanking you at this age and it feels sexually concerning to you given your 20 years old and being spanked is not something my parents should still be doing to me. They should definitely respect that if you explain like everything I said earlier.
Hmm. Yes, it is my father who does most of the spanking, but that's cause my mother makes him do it when he is available. I never got that kind of vibe though, and my mom is there when he does it.
Might be worth bringing up though, to see how they react. If it is even remotely a motivation (which I seriously doubt) they would surely cut it out after being "found out".
If it happens again, you need to report it to someone. Do you go to counseling? If not, most schools have counseling services set up. They are mandated reporters and can help you get on your feet and move out because this is abusive.

Also, I really don't want my friends and acquaintances to hear about this. I would die of mortification! Are councilors who are sworn to secrecy if I told them?
