Three brothers are charged with raping a 10-year-old Louisiana girl who locked herself in a bedroom when they offered her money for sex, police said.
Two of the suspects, identified as Raul Paz-Perez and Wilmer Paz-Perez, both 35, were arrested Saturday on a charge of first-degree rape involving a juvenile under the age of 13, Kenner police said.
A third brother, 31-year-old Elder Paz-Perez, is still being sought as of early Tuesday on the same charge, Lt. Michael Cunningham told The Post.
“We don’t know where he is,” Cunningham said. “He may be out of state.”
Elder Paz-Perez is the boyfriend of the 10-year-old girl’s mother. He and his brothers had been living with the girl and her family, including her 15-year-old sister and two stepsiblings, at the time of the alleged attack, Cunningham said.
The three brothers were alone with the 10-year-old girl at a home in Kenner on Wednesday when they made sexual advances toward her, offering her money for sex acts, Cunningham said.
The young girl locked herself in a bedroom, but one of the brothers managed to bust inside, Cunningham said.
“After defeating the lock, the three entered the room, undressed the victim, held her down and sexually assaulted her,” Kenner police said in a statement.
Days later, the girl told a relative, who then reported the alleged attack to authorities on Saturday. Raul and Wilmer Paz-Perez were arrested later that day, police said.
Detectives are also looking into whether Elder Paz-Perez sexually assaulted the 15-year-old sister of the 10-year-old girl after she “made a disclosure” to investigators about an incident a few years earlier, Cunningham said.
Two stepsiblings of the 10-year-old girl are also being interviewed by detectives to see if they were victimized as well, Cunningham said.
Raul and Wilmer Paz-Perez were being held without bail Tuesday at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, online records show.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainers have also been placed on Raul and Wilmer Paz-Perez, who are originally from Honduras and were in the US illegally. The immigration status for Elder Paz-Perez was unclear early Tuesday, Cunningham said.

A 10-year-old girl in India was stripped naked at gunpoint and thrashed brutally with a bamboo stick by her father.
The minor girl lived in the eastern state of Assam with her parents. The assault was caught on camera and the video went viral Tuesday, local media reports said. In the video, the girl's mother is seen trying to rescue her child while she is being attacked by her father.
A neighbor alerted the police to the assault, following which the accused was arrested, India Today reported.
“We have registered a case against him...," Ditumoni Goswami, a local police officer, the Hindustan Times . Goswami said the father assaulted the girl as he suspected her of stealing some valuables.
“The man himself is involved in various illegal activities and in the video, we have seen he is showing a gun. However, we are yet to find the gun. After initial interrogation, we are going to produce the man before the court," Goswami said.
An eyewitness told India Today the father "has many criminal records." Authorities told local media a formal complaint was filed against the person who uploaded the video on social media.
“The person who uploaded the video could have simply shared it with the police and action would have been taken against the father. But by sharing it on social media, the person has committed a crime. The video was uploaded multiple times by multiple account holders. We are trying to get the primary source. Action will be taken against those people who shared it," Goswami told the Hindustan Times.
Police superintendent Bhanwar Meena reportedly said they have spoken to the victim's mother, and are trying to support them. “We are also concerned about the mental trauma that the minor girl has gone through," Meena said. The minor girl has been sent to a local hospital for medical examination.
Authorities are investigating the incident and charges against the accused are yet to be made public.
The victim and the accused in the case have not been identified. It was unclear on which social media platform the video was uploaded.

LAGOS – Justice Kudirat Jose of Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja was, yesterday, told how a commercial driver, Ajayi Gbadegesin, 40, had sexual intercourse with his daughter for 18 months.
Led in evidence by the state prosecutor, Mr. Babatunde Oguntemowo, an importer of laboratory and scientific equipment, Babatope Adamolekun, said: “On May 12, 2014, at about 8a.m, on my way to work at Bello Bus Stop, Iju, Lagos, I saw a 10-year-old girl (name withheld) begging a woman for money.
“I asked her why she was not in school and the victim narrated to me that she lost her mother, was staying with her step-mother in Agege, a suburb of Lagos and needed money to go back.
“She added that her father had been having sex with her for more than one and half years and that she almost died from the previous night’s experience, as her father had sex with her more than three times.”
The witness further told the court that when he asked the girl of her father’s whereabouts, she told him that her father’s commercial bus was parked a few meters away from the bus stop and that he had gone to get fuel.
Adamolekun told the court that with the help of four other people, they forced the victim’s father to the police station in a tricycle.
He added: “On getting to Red House Police Station at Iju Ishaga in Agege, I told the police what happened and they assigned a female officer to take the girl to hospital for test and treatment.
“I assisted them with N7,500 that evening when I was showed the result from the hospital that confirmed that her father had sex with her. The DPO, Ajimote, directed them to charge the matter to court immediately after seeing the report.”
The next morning, Gbadegesin admitted having sex with his daughter, saying it was the devil’s work.
The witness continued: “Then we chartered a vehicle to Abule-Egba Magistrate’s Court, where I was called as a witness, and the Magistrate ordered that the girl be taken to Idi-Araba for rehabilitation, while her father was remanded in Kirikiri Prison.”
Justice Jose adjourned the matter till October 6 for continuation of trial.
