The Accredited Camping Association Insurance Program
For more than 40 years, Nancy Brown has demonstrated her commitment to serving the needs of her clients. When Nancy became involved with the camping industry, the policies available to camp owners were incompatible with the needs of camps, and inadequately insured their operations. There was a need for tailored policies that took into consideration that the programs offered by camps are very diverse. Camps can be seasonal, year round, day, overnight, urban, rural, for profit, not for profit, special needs, and everything in between. Many offer activities not normally covered under general commercial policies, and all of this coverage had to be affordable. Camp owners needed someone that understood their business, and was willing to help develop insurance solutions unique to their exposures. Working with her independent claims adjuster, David McKeon, Nancy has created a focused claims management environment that helps ensure the policies offered will respond properly in the event of an insured loss.
Through years of statistical record keeping on claims and losses at camp, Nancy is able to negotiate favorable insurance terms for her clients, by demonstrating to Insurers and others just how safe camp can be.
Nancy has such a strong affinity for camp owners because she truly believes in the importance of what they do. Studies have shown the benefits children derive from the camp experience. They achieve health and wellness, leadership skills, a sense of independence, and strengthened social skills. Her children attended summer camp, including her daughter Lisa , who is now a member of her camp insurance team.
Nancy is passionate about the life-changing benefits the camp experience provides for children. She is determined to help camp owners ensure that the camp experience remains available to children throughout Canada.
