At a cost of 350 to 400 dollars, this robot boasts a lidar for navigation, a powerful engine that develops a suction power of up to 4000 Pa according to manufacturers, as well as a special vibrating mop that allows the robot to more thoroughly wipe off serious dirt from the floor. The result is a duet of a powerful robot vacuum cleaner and a floor polisher. An interesting enough solution that can seriously compete in the market if the robot's efficiency is confirmed in real conditions. Next, we will take a closer look and test the Midea M7 Pro, after which we will express our own opinion whether this robot vacuum cleaner is worth buying. So let's go!

Equipment
The robot vacuum cleaner is packed in the following branded box:

In addition to the robot itself, it contains:
- Charging base.
- Cord for connecting the base to the mains.
- Wet cleaning nozzle with pre-installed microfiber cloth.
- Vibratory mop module.
- Robot network connection guide and operating instructions (all documentation in English).
- Spare HEPA filter.

The package bundle is almost meager. Of the spare consumables, there is only a filter, there are no spare wipes and side brushes in the kit.
Appearance
Now let's look at how the robot vacuum cleaner itself works. Midea M7 Pro is made in black. The lidar is highlighted with gold edging, which makes the robot more stylish or something.

Wall detection sensors are installed on the mechanical bumper on both sides. A system of sensors is installed in the center to detect obstacles in the path of the robot. An additional pair of sensors are installed on both sides of the robot closer to the back, next to the vents. In total, there are about 30 sensors on board the robot that help to navigate in space.

On top of the case there are 2 mechanical control buttons: forced return to the base for charging and start / pause. The lidar itself, by the way, is equipped with a mechanical button that prevents the robot from getting stuck under the furniture.

The dust collector is located under the top cover. Next to it is a Wi-Fi connection reset button.

The container holds up to 450 ml of dry waste. A brush for cleaning the dust container and the central brush is compactly stored on the top of the lid. Filtration system based on HEPA, foam and mesh filter. This is a plus.

The water tank is installed at the back. It holds about 220-250 ml, the information is different everywhere. A pump is installed inside for electronic regulation of the water supply.

Let's see how the robot is arranged from below. It has 4 fall protection sensors. There are two side brushes, they are quick-detachable, three-beam, with pile brushes.

The central brush is made with inserts made of bristles of different structure: soft and hard. On both sides, the caps are removable to clean the brush from wound hair and wool, this is a plus.

Water enters the napkin through 4 holes on the bottom of the robot. The napkin is attached with a pocket and Velcro. The fabric itself is not very dense. To fix the attachment to the robot, you need to turn it over, which can cause some inconvenience.

Instead of a conventional water tank with a fixed nozzle, you can install a special module with a vibration squeegee. It also holds about 220-250 ml of water. An electric drive is installed inside, due to which the napkin moves, as well as a pump for electronic regulation of the water supply.

The napkin is divided into 2 parts and connected with elastic bands, attached to the platform with Velcro. The movements of the napkin are directed in opposite directions, imitating the movements of a person's hands when rubbing dirt by hand. How effective this system is, we will definitely check during the tests.

In general, the build quality of the robot is average, as is the price segment.

Functionality
Let's move on to an overview of the features of the Midea M7 Pro. The robot vacuum cleaner is controlled through the proprietary MSmartLife mobile application, which can be downloaded by scanning the QR code in the instructions. Registration and connection of the robot to the network should not cause problems, follow the manufacturer's prompts.

In the application on the main operating panel, the robot builds a map of the room and stores it in memory. In the settings, you can turn on the mode of saving the map, activate the function of automatically increasing the power when driving on carpets, manually control the robot, set the driving mode when the vibration squeegee is installed. The difference is that with effective cleaning, the robot moves in a denser snake. You can also set up a cleaning schedule by choosing the time, days of the week, suction power, the level of water supply to the napkin, and even the need for cleaning rooms. You can adjust the volume and language of the voice prompts. By the way, Midea M7 Pro speaks Russian, which is a plus.
Additionally, it is possible to set the time when the robot will not bother you, view the cleaning log, track the status of consumables, update the firmware if necessary and study the help section, although all the information is in English, as well as the instructions in paper form.
Let's go back to the main work panel. Here you can adjust the suction power and water supply level, set virtual walls and forbidden zones, and even separate forbidden zones for the wet cleaning mode. Select a point on the map where the robot should move for local cleaning, set cleaning zones with rectangles on the map, and even select the desired rooms for cleaning, as well as the number of robot passes (from 1 to 3).

True, there is a nuance here, despite the fact that the Midea M7 Pro automatically zones the room into rooms, you cannot manually edit the map by connecting several rooms into one or vice versa, dividing the room into zones. As a result, in my case, the robot broke the map not into 5 rooms, as it looks in reality, but into 3, combining several rooms into one. And there is no way to correct the situation manually, which is not very convenient. But at least the rooms can be named. It should also be noted that Midea M7 Pro is capable of storing multiple cards in memory, which is especially important when cleaning houses with several floors.
These are all functions of a robot. In principle, it incorporates the basic features for automatically maintaining cleanliness in the house and flexible adjustment of the cleaning plan.
Navigation
And finally, let's move on to the tests. First of all, let's check the navigation of the Midea M7 Pro in a room with obstacles. Initially, the robot passes the entire available area around the perimeter. The dryer caused him inconvenience, but he was still able to get out of the trap on his own and continue cleaning. When cleaning with a snake, the robot was able to separately wrap a chair and a box around each leg of the chair, after which it returned to the base. The test passed successfully.

As for navigation within the entire house, even though the robot vacuum cleaner zoned the room into rooms, it still breaks the room into zones convenient for itself on subsequent launches, removing them in order, first along the perimeter, and then with a snake. As a result, he divided the house of 5 rooms into 6 zones, and even within the limits of one small room, he still divided it into 2 parts. This affects the cleaning speed. In our case, the usable area is about 32 sq. M. the robot cleaned in 37 minutes, while most analogs with lidar cope with this task in 25-30 minutes, cleaning room by room entirely. So we can say that the movement algorithm is not the most thought out and needs to be improved.

But in any case, there were no uncleared areas left, and the robot coped with the task, so this test was also passed successfully. I would just like to add a few observations that were found when testing the Midea M7 Pro within the home:
- The robot sometimes automatically increases power even when driving on laminate flooring. The carpet recognition function is a bit damp.
- When cleaning around the perimeter, the robot moves over the base. If a moistened napkin is installed on it, moisture will get on the contact pads, which in the future can contribute to their oxidation and the failure of the base. This is not good.
- During the test, the maximum suction power was selected and in 37 minutes almost half of the battery charge was used up. At maximum power, the robot will last about 80 minutes of work and this is actually a good indicator.
Suction power
Now let's just check the suction power of the Midea M7 Pro. He thoroughly cleaned out debris from slots 2 and 4 mm deep, and was even able to partially suck out debris from a 10 mm slot.

Of course, this robot can be called powerful, and if it had come to the review a little earlier, it would certainly have entered our rating of the most powerful robotic vacuum cleaners that we have been able to test.
Dry cleaning on laminate
The quality of dry cleaning is high, the robot has collected all the garbage from the laminate, only a small part remains in the corners, from where the round robotic vacuum cleaners are not able to sweep the garbage.

At least most of the models that we had on review. Most of the garbage is collected in a dust collector. Wool and hair are wrapped around the center brush. The test passed successfully.
Cleaning the carpet
Thanks to the high suction power and the competent design of the brushes, the robot collects debris well on the carpet, making it deeply clean. In this regard, there are also no complaints about the Midea M7 Pro.

Wet cleaning
But there are certain nuances in wet cleaning. With a regular water tank and a microfiber cloth installed, the robot does not wipe off dirt very well, smearing dirt on the floor. And for everyday wet cleaning, this option is not very effective - the napkin does not evenly wet the floor and there are dry stripes after driving.

But with the installed module with a vibrating mop, the robot really wipes off not only dirt, but also dried spots, almost at the level of robotic polishers. In our case, it was sauce and spilled coffee, which we left for a day to dry the stains. Therefore, with this module, the robot copes well with the assigned tasks.

Passage of obstacles
The robot moves over 2 cm high lanes without any problems, as stated by the manufacturer.

Passage of dark surfaces
There are also no problems with the passage of dark surfaces. The robot does not recognize them as a difference in height, this is a plus.

Noise level
Well, in conclusion, we measure the noise level of the Midea M7 Pro in different modes. In wet cleaning mode with a standard tank at minimum power, the noise level is about 59 dB. In standard mode, it reaches 63 dB, and at maximum power 66 dB. At the same time, with the vibration mop installed, the noise level is about 64-65 dB. This robot vacuum cleaner is not too noisy considering the high suction power, which is good!

Summing up
The Midea M7 Pro has been reviewed and tested in detail.
Now I would like to share my personal opinion about this model, which was formed after detailed acquaintance and testing. Liked the following:
- There is lidar and most of the advanced features in the app.
- The robot is equipped with a powerful motor.
- High quality of wiping off dirt with the installed module with a vibration squeegee.
- The quality of dry cleaning is above average.
- Midea M7 Pro is able to vacuum and mop the floor at the same time.
- The device is not afraid of dark floor coverings.
- Good obstacle passability.
- The optimal price, considering the design and functionality.
But this robot vacuum cleaner also has disadvantages, the main ones are:
- You cannot edit the boundaries of rooms when working with a map.
- The robot runs into the base while cleaning.
- The auto power up function on carpets sometimes takes on a life of its own, turning on on hard surfaces.
- Wet cleaning with a standard water tank installed is less effective than analogs.
As a result, the robot has its own strengths and weaknesses, so it's up to you whether to choose this model or not. In any case, the Midea M7 Pro deserves attention thanks to the lidar, powerful suction and the vibration mop module. This is a rather interesting combination of design solutions and, most importantly, they are effective and cope with the assigned tasks.
