The only doctor's office rectal temp experience I had was when I was 13 years old. My mom(a nurse) was trying to break me of my anal insertion fetish, and she called my doctor's office and requested he take my temp rectally so I knew what it really felt like to have my temp taken rectally. Of course I was made to strip down to everything except my underwear. But, not knowing it was going to happen, I heard the doctor tell the nurse to get him a baby thermometer. Then my doctor told me to turn over on my belly. He pulled my undewear down, and stuck the thermometer in my butt. And my mom's snide remark was "Good, now you know what a rectal temperature really feels like." But of course my brother was there also and saw the whole thing, and he did not get his temp taken at all. I felt like I was unfairly singled out. My mom would always lecture me about "not perferating my bowel"and I could "cause seriious injury to my rectum" if I did it. What did I care at 13/14 years old. It felt good, and that's all I cared about.

Playing Dr was quite popular then. In addition to the many glass mercury thermometers that had invaded it since infancy, my young rectum became quite accustomed to the feel of a lubricated finger or three clumsily probing it during an extended rectal exam.
It also became intimately acquainted with the long red tube and the thick black nozzle that accompanied grandmas old school enema set. And we kids made frequent use of when older.
