BREAKING NEWS: Quentin Grimes Signs Multi-Year Extension with New York Knicks

New York, NY – June 15, 2024 – The New York Knicks have secured rising star Quentin Grimes with a multi-year contract extension, solidifying their commitment to the young guard as a cornerstone of the franchise’s future.

Sources close to the team confirm that the deal is worth $60 million over four years, with incentives that could push the total value even higher. Grimes, 23, has emerged as a key two-way player for the Knicks, known for his lockdown defense, three-point shooting, and relentless energy.

'Quentin embodies everything we want in a Knick—toughness, dedication, and a team-first mentality,' said Knicks President Leon Rose in a statement. 'His growth over the past two seasons has been incredible, and we believe he’s just scratching the surface of his potential.'

Since being drafted 25th overall in 2021, Grimes has steadily increased his impact, averaging 11.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game last season while shooting 38.6% from three-point range. His defensive versatility has made him a favorite of head coach Tom Thibodeau, often tasked with guarding the opponent’s best perimeter player.

Grimes expressed his excitement about staying in New York, telling reporters: 'This city has embraced me, and I love playing for this team and these fans. We’ve got unfinished business, and I’m ready to help bring a championship back to Madison Square Garden.'

The extension comes as the Knicks continue building around their young core, including Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and newly acquired star forward OG Anunoby. With Grimes locked in, New York’s future looks brighter than ever.
