Sometimes a public lobby can be too much for GTA Online players, which is why they prefer a private session.
Griefers and tryhards have been a major problem for GTA Online since its release. Whether they blow up personal vehicles or challenge players to death matches, it can be a real hassle. They make it hard to get missions done. As a result, some GTA Online players have to resort to private sessions.
There are major differences between a private and public session. GTA Online players might prefer a solo lobby. They will also have the option to invite different players . Doing so allows them to control who gets to take part in the session. For those who are just starting out, here is what needs to be done.
GTA players need to load the story mode first. If they start with GTA Online, they will be sent to a public lobby. Obviously, this is not what they want, so here is how players can select a private session.
The above video demonstrates what a private session looks like. GTA Online players can enjoy a more relaxed environment . To achieve this, they must first enter story mode and then select GTA Online. They will be given the option to choose their preferred lobby.
GTA Online players can decide between solo or invite only. This applies to every platform. Players can do this on both PC and the current generation of consoles. It's simple and easy to do, even for beginners.
To send invites, players can look over their friend list. If they are currently playing GTA Online, they can be sent an invite for a private session. Players can also choose a crew session as this allows them to perform heists more easily.
First and foremost, GTA Online players no longer have to worry about griefers and tryhards. For example, as seen in the above video, they often get in the way of cargo runs. It can be frustrating losing hard earned money .
Players can use private sessions to their advantage. While GTA Online can be an interactive experience, some users are best avoided. Most lobbies are riddled with explosions on a daily basis. It's not fun trying to scrupulously complete a challenge, only to fail because of an Oppressor Mk II.
Private sessions allow players to dictate the game on their terms. Chaos is all well and good, but sometimes order is needed. Whether it's a cargo run or a bank heist, players already have a lot on their minds. They don't need to worry about homing missiles or troll messages.
It remains to be seen how the standalone GTA Online will handle this feature. Since it's separate from the GTA 5 story mode, there's going to be a change in how private sessions work. Presumably, the game will allow players to select their lobby right from the beginning.

Except for the fact that the majority of these actions cannot be launched from a non-public lobby...
GTA Online is one of the most fun and unique multiplayer experiences in modern gaming. Rockstar Games' online ambitions weren't just restricted to Freemode, as in the years after launch, the studio introduced various match types, missions, and game modes.
As a result, seven years after release, GTA Online is far more expansive and fulfilling. The game has grown to an unprecedented scale and is one of the most fun online multiplayer games today.
However, as much fun as GTA Online is, it isn't exactly home to the most cordial and polite of players. Only minutes into a Freemode session, gamers will be bombarded with all sorts of weaponry and vehicular assaults.
Therefore, a private session or an "invite-only" session is best suited for players looking to do VIP/CEO work or other such missions in the game.
To make a private session in GTA Online, players need only go to the Pause Menu while in Story Mode and follow these instructions:
This way, gamers can invite friends and crew for a session without running the risk of their tasks getting impeded by griefers or other such players.
Griefing is a massive issue in GTA Online, but one that is not easily fixed, as the essence of an online multiplayer lends itself to that sort of behavior.
Therefore, if players are looking to do VIP/CEO work or complete supply/sell missions for their businesses, an invite-only session should be a no-brainer.

This is a great day for GTA Online players.
The easiest way to make big stacks of cash in GTA Online is through businesses. There are arcades, motorcycle clubs, weapons dealerships, nightclubs, and money laundering operations. Starting July 26, you can run all of these from private, invite-only lobbies.
Arguably the worst thing about GTA Online is the griefers. Sure, it takes a lot of money to buy anything of substance in the game - how else is Rockstar supposed to convince you to buy Shark Cards? - but at least it's possible. Well, it is when some dickhead on an Oppressor isn't griefing you. Fortunately, these changes Rockstar is rolling out combat those issues.
According to a Rockstar newswire post , as well as the upcoming content in the Criminal Enterprises update, there will also be a host of changes aimed at making the online experience more enjoyable for players. Primarily, you can conduct business activities, including selling missions, in private, invite-only lobbies. This is the stuff of dreams, people.
"Starting July 26, players will be able to engage in business activities β including Sell Missions β in private Invite Only sessions. Youβll be able to register as a VIP, CEO, or MC President in Invite Only, Crew, and Friend Sessions, allowing business owners to source and sell at their own pace or with their friends."
Of course, "Players can also continue to sell their goods in Public Sessions, and those who do will receive an increased high-demand bonus for their efforts." This makes it seem like selling in public lobbies will now net even more money. Hopefully, there won't be a penalty for selling in a private session.
To help combat griefing in general in public lobbies, the GTA Online scoreboard is also going to be changed. Now, kills made during public lobby freeroam won't count towards a player's KD ratio. This should discourage players who like to hop on Oppressors and bully people from being absolute dickheads.
Because that may not work, to discourage them further, "the effectiveness of the Homing Missiles on the Pegassi Oppressor Mk II has been reduced, and its countermeasures will have increased cooldowns and fewer uses." An Oppressor nerf is just what the doctor ordered.
