Do It! aka. Private besteht aus sechs Episoden, die sich alle um Sex drehen. Es geht um fremdgehende Pärchen, SM-Liebhaber aus Deutschland, Marokkaner und Züge.
Obwohl ich Anthologies eher unnütz finde, sorgt dieses Format hier für etwas Frische und Geschwindigkeit, da Brass sich nicht zu lang mit den selben Figuren aufhält. Die Episoden sind alle ungefähr gleich lang und größtenteils mit Amateurdarstellern besetzt, die sonst in wenig bis nichts anderem mitgewirkt haben. Leider sind nicht alle Geschichten auf demselben Niveau, gerade wenn man an die brutal langweilige Fotografen-Episode denkt. Dafür haben die Schauspieler ihren Spaß und den typisch übertriebenen Brass-Style mochte ich auch hier sehr gerne.
An Frivole Lola kommt Do It! nicht ran, doch im Gegensatz zu den generischen Hardcore-Streifen aus dieser Zeit, besticht Brass hier mit Kreativität und einer (größtenteils) interessanten Inszenierung. Das Cameo ist ebenfalls gelungen.
I would say Private is the most explicit of Tinto Brass’s work. The best story in it is the one with the sleeping blonde wife and the husband who uses an electric toothbrush as a vibrator to wake her up. Unfortunately the BDSM brothel related one was more disgusting than arousing and that took away from the movie’s impact. Glad that this was finally added to Letterboxd though.
You'd probably know sexploiation director Tinto Brass from Caligula. He came up in conversation recently so when I saw another one of his films at the video store I thought I'd check it out. A completely autentic recreation of a 70's sexploiation film right down to the hair. It features 6 stories, maybe one of them worth it. I can't help but question who this film is for. Anyone that knows exploitation history knows the introduction of hardcore killed the "nudie", and while this film features plenty of shots of dick (looked fake) and vag the simulated sex is pretty silly for the most part. The film has no substance to it at all but the style is very cool…
this is like basically everything that anyone who has heard stories of tinto brass but hasn't actually seen anything by him thinks everything by him is like, everything that isn't graphic nudity is a really short setup for some scene including even more graphic nudity and it's even an anthology so there's not any connecting thread of story either. when one story runs out of potential it just switches to another. still solid of course with an all timer ending
The best shot "porno" you will ever see. Tinto Brass is the undefeated eye of erotic cinema and there will never be another like him.
There are shots in this that your favorite director could never dream of. Yeah that's right. Your favorite director could never direct those lame ass movies you love better than Tinto Brass directs his late career soft porn flicks.

Anyway, PRIVATE (2003) is a mixed bag anthology that looks at promiscuous couples looking to push the envelope of their relationships. Half the stories are good, the other half aren’t but Brass loves ass so much it’s hard to complain.
It's impressive how, with much much lower means, Brass' later output still aesthetically align enough with his extravagant early work.
This erotic comedy from Tinto Brass really fails for me because I don't find it to be particularly erotic or funny. It's a series of different stories, each of which is chock full of nudity and fairly explicit sex, but also have a lot of off-putting qualities, amking the whole thing more unpleasant than arousing.

This movie was fun. The storylines in each vignette were sexy. They went a little over the top with fake dicks. It probably looked more real in the theaters before HD.
