Privacy Policy for 40+ (Table Tennis)

Borys Shcherbyna ("we", "our", or "us") operates the "40+" mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimal amount of information required to provide and improve the App's features:

• Account & Contact Information: When you sign in using Sign in with Apple, we receive an Apple-provided unique identifier and (if you choose to share it) your name and email address. If you register as a coach or request profile verification, you may optionally provide your name, phone number, and social/messenger handles.
• User-Generated Content (UGC): If you upload a custom avatar photo or create a coach profile (biography, hourly rates, contact info), this content is stored in our secure database and displayed publicly to other users within the App.
• Player & Rating Data: Tournament results, ratings, and match history are sourced from publicly available Ukrainian Table Tennis Federation (UTTF) records and public league tournament databases.
• Camera Access (Liveness Check): With your explicit permission, the App may access your camera solely for a brief identity verification (liveness check) to link your account to your player profile. Photos/video captured during this process are used exclusively for verification and are not shared with third parties.
• Location Information: With your permission, the App accesses your device's approximate or precise location solely while using the app to show nearby table tennis clubs and calculate distances. Location data is processed locally on your device and is not stored on our servers.
• Device & Push Notification Data: If you enable push notifications, we store an anonymous device push token to send you updates about tournaments, ratings, and followed players.
• Moderation & Safety Reports: If you report content or a user within the App, details of the report (including the category, timestamp, and optional explanation) are stored confidentially for moderation and safety enforcement.

2. Face Data and TrueDepth API

• Collection & Purpose: The App uses Apple's TrueDepth camera and ARKit (ARFaceTrackingConfiguration) solely for optional player identity verification (liveness check). It detects real-time head turns and eye blinks on-device to confirm the user is a live person, then captures 3 standard 2D selfie photos. No 3D face meshes, depth maps, or biometric templates are collected or stored. Face data is never used for marketing, advertising, or tracking.
• Storage & Sharing: Real-time motion data is processed in device memory only and discarded immediately. The 3 verification photos are stored securely in a private cloud database (Supabase). Face data is never shared with third parties.
• Retention & Deletion: Photos are retained temporarily until reviewed by an administrator. Users can permanently delete their account and photos anytime in the App under Settings → Delete account.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for:

• Providing core app features (ratings, tournament brackets, club directory, coach listings).
• Authenticating your account securely.
• Sending notifications you opted into.
• Verifying player identity upon request.
• Enforcing our Terms of Use and maintaining a safe environment free of abusive behavior.

4. Data Storage & Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We use trusted infrastructure providers to operate the App:

• Apple (Sign in with Apple, APNs) for authentication and notifications.
• Supabase for database hosting and secure authentication management.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated personal data directly within the App anytime under Settings → Delete Account, or by submitting a remote deletion request.
