Account & Data Deletion — 40+ (Table Tennis)

This page outlines the procedure for users of the 40+ mobile application (developed by Borys Shcherbyna) to delete their account and all associated personal data.

Option 1: In-App Account Deletion (Immediate)

If you have the 40+ app installed on your device, you can delete your account directly at any time:

  • Open the 40+ app.
  • Navigate to the Activity tab.
  • Tap the Settings (gear) icon in the top right.
  • Tap Delete Account and confirm.

Once confirmed, your account and all personal data are immediately and permanently wiped from our production servers via automated cascading delete.

Option 2: Web / Email Deletion Request (Without the App)

If you have uninstalled the app, no longer have access to your device, or prefer to request deletion remotely:

  • Send an email to: borys.shcherbyna@gmail.com
  • Subject: Account Deletion Request - 40+
  • Body: State your request to permanently delete your account and all associated personal data.

Identity & Ownership Verification Safeguards:

To protect user accounts from unauthorized, fraudulent, or malicious deletion requests:

1. Sender Verification: The request must originate directly from the registered Google or Apple email address tied to the account. Requests sent from third-party addresses or attempting to delete another person's account will be rejected.

2. Confirmation Step: Upon receiving the request, we will send a confirmation reply to your registered email address. You must reply to that email to confirm your identity and intent before deletion is executed.

3. Once verified, your account and all personal data will be permanently purged within 7 business days, and a final confirmation email will be sent.

What Data is Deleted?

Upon account deletion, the following data is permanently purged from our servers:

  • Authentication Records: User ID, login credentials, and registered email address.
  • Profile Information: Display name, user handle, bio, and linked profile details.
  • User-Generated Content: Custom avatar photos, uploaded coach profiles, and verification selfie photos.
  • App Data & Preferences: Followed players list, favorite tournaments, equipment and racket setup logs.
  • Push Notification Tokens: Device push tokens and notification preferences.

What Data is Retained?

  • Official Federation Match Records & Ratings: Historical match scores, tournament brackets, and official sports ratings are public records maintained by the Ukrainian Table Tennis Federation (UTTF) and regional tournament leagues. These public sports competition archives exist independently of your 40+ user account and are not altered by deleting your personal app account.
  • No other personal data or identifiers are retained.
