Title: Power Book III: Raising Kanan – Episode 8 – 'Blood Ties'

Opening Scene:
The episode picks up right after the explosive ending of Episode 7, where Kanan Stark (played by Mekai Curtis) narrowly escaped a setup orchestrated by his own uncle, Marvin (London Brown). Kanan is bleeding from a gunshot wound to the arm as he stumbles through the darkened streets of South Jamaica, Queens. His mind races—who can he trust now?

Act 1: Trust No One

Kanan makes his way to an old safe house once used by his father, Ken 'Breeze' Williams (before his death). There, he patches himself up, replaying Marvin’s betrayal in his head. Meanwhile, Raq Thomas (Patina Miller) is furious when she learns Marvin acted without her approval. She confronts him, leading to a heated argument where Marvin insists Kanan is a liability.

At the same time, Detective Howard (Omar Epps) is closing in on the Thomas organization. He leans on a new informant—Lou-Lou (Malcolm Mays), who’s been secretly rattled by the violence and Howard’s pressure.

Act 2: Family First?

Jukebox (Hailey Kilgore) visits Kanan, unaware of the shooting. She senses something’s wrong, but Kanan brushes her off, not wanting to drag her deeper into the life. Their bond is strained as Jukebox grows frustrated with his secrecy.

Raq, realizing the streets are turning against her, calls a meeting with the Cartel connection, Sal (Michael Rispoli). She proposes a new deal to solidify her power, but Sal questions her control over her own family. Raq leaves the meeting with a warning: 'Get your house in order, or we’ll find someone who can.'

Act 3: The Setup

Lou-Lou, under Howard’s thumb, feeds him intel about an upcoming drug shipment. Howard sets up a sting, but Raq—always two steps ahead—switches the plan last minute, leaving Howard empty-handed. Lou, however, is now in deeper trouble—Raq suspects a rat.

Kanan, still reeling from Marvin’s betrayal, decides to take matters into his own hands. He tracks down the shooter from the ambush and brutally extracts information, confirming Marvin’s involvement.

Climax: Blood is Thicker… Until It’s Not

The episode ends with a chilling face-off between Kanan and Marvin in an abandoned warehouse. Kanan holds a gun on his uncle, rage in his eyes. Marvin, surprisingly calm, tells him: 'You think this life is a game? You ain’t built for it.'

Before Kanan can pull the trigger, Raq bursts in, gun drawn. The screen fades to black with all three pointing weapons at each other—family loyalty shattered.

Post-Credit Teaser:
A shadowy figure watches from a distance—Famous (Antonio Ortiz), who has seen everything. His loyalty to Kanan is about to be tested.

*Episode 8 sets the stage for an all-out war within the Thomas family. With Kanan now fully aware of the betrayals around him, will he become the ruthless kingpin he’s destined to be—or will Raq’s empire crumble from within?*
